#1, the Wolf River Flooding must stop. I was very successful in the 1990's serving 10 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly getting along with both Republicans and Democrats. Now nothing gets done because they fight all the time. My talents, experience and leadership can bring us all back together for the people of Wisconsin. I'm the best Candidate to Unite us. I passed many great Laws because I was able to work with everyone like: Saving the Wolf River from the Exxon Mine; Deregulating small rural Cemeteries all over Wisconsin; Making Hwy 10 safer. I was born into Politics as my father was the Senator from this District for 34 years, Gerald Lorge. I learned well and became a Leader in most everything I did. Help is here!! :)
We need to build hundreds of thousands of new housing units in Wisconsin ASAP for our working population and to keep up with this demand. This will make housing affordable for first time and middle income buyers. Support the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority Programs. Work with local governments to build the best and most affordable homes in Wisconsin.
To ensure fair representation for voters, redistricting is not the main issue, campaign finance laws are the main problem as we need to get back to one person one vote and focus on cleaning up the dirty campaign donation system will do the most good. On redistricting, I always thought that local units of government should be more involved. There are 60,000 people living in each of the 99 State Assembly Districts in Wisconsin. Some would want a City or a County with 60,000 population to be one Assembly District. Makes sense, but then that would give that City just one Representative. Others say split that City up so that there are many Assembly Representatives in that City along with others. The local officials need to weigh in.
I have always supported Schools. I will always continue to put education first because it has and will always be the best investment for Wisconsin's future gener aaations including those with disabilities. I am running for the Assembly because I believe we have failed our future generations. I support other important school related resource funding such as making sure our students have healthy affordable meals all day long. America needs to step up and Wisconsin was always a big leader in education in the past and we need to do more. I wont turn my back on our kids. We must do more. Education is number one, repairing Wisconsin's infrastructure is number two. Reducing Property Taxes needs to happen with increased school funding.
These concerns are a priority for me:
Guardrails for Hyperscale Data Centers:
Water Consumption & Quality, Energy Reliability & Costs, Air Emissions & Noise, State & Regional Resources.
Guardrails for CAFOs (Commercial Agricultural Feeding Organizations):
Waste Management & Setbacks, Nutrient Runoff Controls, Financial Assurance & Bonds, Federal State and Local Program Data.
This is a lot, and it's a new World with these new issues. The important thing is that Bill Lorge the Candidate vows to do what is best for the People on these matters if elected. I was the first Republican in decades to receive coveted Environmental Awards as a State Legislator in the 1990's and I will always do what is best for the future of our Planet.
