As a school board member, I’ve seen how trust in institutions affects families every day. My priorities are strengthening public education, protecting Wisconsin’s water, addressing affordability, and restoring confidence in the institutions people rely on. I don’t expect everyone to agree with me, but I believe everyone deserves representation. My role is helping people understand government and helping government understand people. I believe public service begins with listening, and that lasting solutions are built with communities, not for them. My guiding principle is the campsite rule: leave things better than you found them. I want to help ensure the next generation can build their future here.
The most significant housing issue facing our area is affordability. More families are finding it difficult to buy a home, and many young adults, teachers, nurses, and tradespeople are being priced out of the communities they serve. I believe housing is both an affordability issue and a workforce issue. While housing decisions are largely local, I support state investments in infrastructure such as water, sewer, roads, and broadband that help communities create housing opportunities. My goal is not a one-size-fits-all solution, but giving local communities the tools they need to meet their own housing needs while keeping homeownership within reach and allowing the next generation to build roots in the communities they call home.
I support a nonpartisan redistricting commission because I believe elections should be about ideas, values, and who can best serve their community—not about which party had the advantage when the maps were drawn. Fair maps won’t eliminate disagreement, nor should they. But they can create incentives for elected officials to listen more broadly, build coalitions, and focus on solving problems rather than simply winning for their team. Strong government depends on accountability, and accountability is strongest when voters have meaningful choices and elected officials must earn their support. When candidates must compete for votes instead of relying on safe districts, our politics becomes less about teams and more about serving the people we
Special education funding should be sum sufficient so school districts can plan responsibly and provide the services students need without uncertainty from year to year. When districts don’t know whether costs will be fully reimbursed, they are forced to shift resources from other educational priorities or ask local taxpayers to make up the difference. More importantly, special education is a commitment we make to some of our most vulnerable children and families. Students with disabilities deserve access to the supports and opportunities they need to succeed, regardless of where they live. Predictable, sustainable funding is not only good fiscal policy—it reflects our values and our responsibility to ensure every child has the opportunity
Large projects can bring jobs and investment, but taxpayers should not be asked to subsidize private profits without clear public benefits. If public resources, incentives, or infrastructure are used to support a project, there should be transparency, accountability, and enforceable commitments to protect water quality, public health, property values, and local infrastructure. I also believe public investments should support good-paying jobs and fair treatment of workers, including opportunities for union labor. Responsible growth means ensuring that companies pay their fair share and that the benefits and burdens of development are shared fairly by the communities affected. Growth should leave communities stronger.
