My priorities are lowering costs, protecting local control, strengthening public education, and supporting small businesses and family farms. Families are facing rising costs for housing, health care, utilities, and everyday expenses, and I will continue working on solutions that make life more affordable while ensuring our communities have the resources they need.

I bring years of experience serving our community. Before being elected to the State Assembly, I served six years on the Beloit City Council, including as Council President and Vice President. I have also worked with families and children facing difficult challenges. I will continue bringing a community-focused approach to Madison and delivering results for the 45th District.
The most pressing housing issue in Wisconsin is that we simply do not have enough housing. The shortage of available homes drives up costs and makes it harder for families, workers, and seniors to find a place they can afford.

We need a balanced approach that increases housing supply while respecting local communities. I support reasonably reducing unnecessary barriers to housing development, expanding the use of TIF for affordable housing projects, and investing in programs to repair and modernize Wisconsin’s aging housing stock. By building more homes and improving the ones we already have, we can create more affordable opportunities for Wisconsin families.
Wisconsin should adopt a nonpartisan redistricting process that creates fair maps and puts voters, not politicians, at the center of the process. The legislature should establish a transparent system before the next census to ensure communities are fairly represented and voters have meaningful choices in their elections.

We saw fairer maps used in the 2024 election, but that progress is not permanent. If we do not have a majority committed to fair maps, Wisconsin risks returning to extreme gerrymandering after the 2030 census. Redistricting should ensure voters choose their representatives, not representatives choosing their voters.
I will work to ensure our public schools have the resources they need to support every student, including students with disabilities. We need to increase the state’s special education reimbursement rate and move closer to the commitment of funding two-thirds of special education costs. Right now, the state is well below that level, forcing local districts to cover the gap. Every dollar spent on special education without state support is a dollar pulled from the general school budget and other classroom needs.

I bring experience working with children, including those with behavioral and mental health challenges, and I will continue advocating for strong public schools and the resources students need to succeed.
My focus is on hyperscale data centers, which have raised serious concerns in my district. These projects should not be approved until they meet a very high bar, including strong environmental protections, safeguards to prevent utility ratepayers from subsidizing infrastructure costs, and a ban on nondisclosure agreements that limit public transparency.

They should not proceed if they require new gas or coal generation, shift infrastructure costs onto utility customers, or fail to fully disclose water use and environmental impacts. We must also evaluate whether their scale and resource demands are appropriate for Wisconsin communities. Strong, enforceable standards must be in place before any project moves forward.
