Wisconsin’s working families have been left behind. We need to address the rising costs of healthcare, housing, and childcare, strengthen public education, and ensure seniors and veterans receive the support they have earned. We must also protect our air, water, and natural resources while helping local businesses grow and create jobs.
My 26 years as a public school teacher and my service as an Environmental Science Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve taught me that issues are rarely black-and-white. Good solutions require listening, asking tough questions, and considering different perspectives.
After knocking on nearly 4,000 doors across the district, I know what matters most to our communities, and I will fight for those priorities.
Affordable housing is one of the top concerns I hear across the 30th Assembly District. Rising property taxes make it harder for homeowners to stay in their homes, while rents continue to outpace wages. For many young families, homeownership feels out of reach.
I support practical solutions, including grants and no-interest loans for critical home repairs and assistance for first-time homebuyers. We must also increase housing supply by helping communities approve Accessory Dwelling Units while respecting local control.
Housing should not be a source of constant anxiety. I will work to make housing more affordable and keep the American Dream within reach for Wisconsin families.
In April of this year, Governor Evers called a special session of the Legislature to consider a constitutional amendment that would permanently ban partisan gerrymandering in Wisconsin. Legislative Republicans declined to act, and the proposal failed to advance.
The people of Wisconsin deserve fair elections and legislative districts that reflect the will of voters, not the interests of politicians. This amendment should be reintroduced at the earliest opportunity and swiftly approved by the Legislature so that voters, not politicians, choose their representatives.
Wisconsin’s public school funding formula is outdated and no longer serves students, schools, or taxpayers. It leaves districts struggling to budget and forces homeowners to bear more of the cost through recurring referendums.
The Legislature must modernize school funding with a system that is transparent, fiscally responsible, and predictable. Schools need stable funding to plan effectively, and taxpayers deserve accountability for every dollar spent.
We also have a constitutional obligation to provide every child with a quality education. Any meaningful reform must fully fund special education so schools can meet students’ needs without shifting additional costs to local taxpayers.
The Legislature should establish clear standards that protect our air, water, and natural resources while safeguarding ratepayers from unexpected costs. These protections should be required from the start of every project.
Developments should also undergo regular financial and environmental audits to ensure they are meeting their commitments. Wisconsinites deserve transparency and accountability.
To ensure compliance, the Department of Natural Resources must have the funding, staffing, and authority needed to enforce standards, conduct oversight, and address problems before they become costly burdens for local communities and taxpayers.
