Wisconsin Legislative BranchWisconsin’s legislature makes state laws. The legislature has two houses: the Wisconsin Senate and the Wisconsin Assembly. Proposed laws (bills) can originate from either the state senate or assembly. Both houses must approve the bill before it is passed on to the governor for signature or veto. The legislature can override a veto with a two-thirds majority vote in each house. Voters elect representatives to represent their assembly district for a two-year term. I bring a unique combination of lived experience and public service to this work. As a former member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard, a former West Allis Alderman, and now a State Representative, I understand the challenges many Wisconsin families face. My priorities are focused on making our community a more affordable, safer, and healthier place for everyone. I’m working to lower costs for working families by expanding affordable housing, reducing child care costs, investing in public education, and creating good-paying union jobs. I’m committed to protecting our democracy, rights, and freedoms. I’m running for reelection to build on the work that we’ve done to make Wisconsin better for all of us.
Wisconsin is facing a housing affordability crisis. Families are struggling with rising rents, increasing home prices, and a shortage of housing options that meet their needs. I support increasing the supply of affordable housing through state investments, expanding programs that help first-time homebuyers, and encouraging the construction of workforce housing. I also support strengthening tenant protections, preserving existing affordable housing, and providing communities with tools to revitalize vacant properties. In addition, we must invest in infrastructure and transportation that support housing growth while ensuring responsible development. We must ensure every resident has access to safe, affordable, and stable housing.
Wisconsin voters deserve legislative districts that reflect communities, not political interests. I support creating an independent, nonpartisan redistricting process that prioritizes transparency, public input, and fairness. Maps should be drawn using objective criteria, including population equality, compliance with federal voting rights laws, respect for municipal boundaries, and preservation of communities of interest.

The current system gives elected officials too much influence over drawing their own districts. A nonpartisan process would help ensure that voters choose their representatives, not the other way around. Fair maps strengthen democracy and ensure all Wisconsin communities have a voice in government.
Every child deserves access to a high-quality public education, regardless of their zip code, race, income, or disability status. Wisconsin must invest in public schools so educators have the resources students need to succeed. I support increasing special education reimbursement to 90%, boosting state aid for public schools, expanding school mental health services, reducing class sizes, and helping schools recruit and retain high-quality educators through competitive compensation and support. As a former educator, I understand these challenges firsthand. We must ensure students with disabilities receive the individualized services they need while providing every student with safe, supportive, and enriching learning environments.
Large-scale projects must be accountable to the communities they impact. I support a moratorium on new hyperscale data centers until Wisconsin fully understands their effects on energy demand, water use, the environment, and quality of life. Communities deserve a meaningful voice before these projects move forward.

I also support stronger oversight of CAFOs, including groundwater monitoring, water quality protections, and strict enforcement of environmental laws. No family should have to worry about contaminated drinking water because of corporate negligence. I support breaking up agricultural monopolies, holding polluters accountable, and strengthening support for the small family farms that are the backbone of rural Wisconsin.
