I believe I am the best candidate for this position because of my 53years of experience, in them years I have gained great experience in leadership through the military in the Amry National Guard. I also was a shift supervisor at a manufacturing plant for several years before enrolling in Alexandria Technical Collage where I earned an Associated Degree in Criminal Justice. I have been a Scoutmaster for a boy scout troop, and I am currently the treasure of my church. I have held several roles throughout my 22-year carrier in Law Enforcement including several instructor positions, Sniper and entry on the SWAT team.
I believe in building a healthy work culture based on respect, leadership, and accountability. Keeping experienced staff not only improves safety — it saves taxpayers money by reducing constant hiring and training costs.
Our jail facility is aging, and that presents both concerns with DOC standards and financial challenges. Rather than rushing into costly solutions, I believe in careful evaluation of current operations and infrastructure and exploring cost-effective upgrades and alternatives.
I believe in transparent leadership and accountability at every level, this can be gained and reinforced through community engagement through programs like coffee with law enforcement in each community, where people can sit down get to know their deputies and ask questions and by having deputies stop by schools on occasion and interact with children.
I will lead the office by example; I will be out with the deputies in the public interacting with the public and listening to their concerns as I would expect each of the deputies to do also. I will give each deputy the training and equipment that they need to perform their duties to the best of their ability. Which will in-turn give residence strong public safety services that are effective, fiscally responsible and sustainable for the future.
Gun safety in critical because it directly prevents accidental injuries, reduces the lethality of self-harm crises and it stops firearms from being stolen of miss used by unauthorized individuals. I believe firearms safety training needs to start in schools at a young age and then be reinforced as a student gets older, so they learn to respect the firearms and respect life. I stand firm on the protection of the 2nd Amendment and all of your Constitutional rights.
I believe that the sheriff's office should work with all law enforcement to enforce the laws that are written, whether local, county, state or federal. Communities and officer are safer when there is cooperation between jurisdictions.
