My blend of executive law enforcement leadership, multi-million-dollar budget management, and deep community roots ensures a seamless, proven transition. Professionally, I have led major investigations, crisis responses, and regional partnerships. Civically, my bachelor’s degree from UMD, Cloquet School Board service, and numerous volunteer board positions ground my leadership. I have spent years working alongside county commissioners, tribal leaders, and local police partners. Advancing my candidacy eliminates guesswork, delivering immediate stability and steady, forward-thinking public safety from day one.
The top issues I discuss with voters center on community safety, accountability, and readiness. First, we must aggressively combat drug abuse and the violent and property crimes it drives. Second, we need proactive mental health strategies to support individuals in crisis, protecting both the public and our deputies. Finally, I am committed to emergency readiness, investing in the training and resources needed to answer every 911 call with excellence to keep Carlton County safe and enjoyable.

Our response to gun violence focuses on strict accountability and proactive enforcement. The Sheriff’s Office is fully committed to enforcing our gun laws to ensure that individuals prohibited from possessing firearms, due to violent offenses, domestic abuse, or felony convictions, cannot obtain or carry them. By conducting rigorous background checks for permits, collaborating with local law enforcement, and removing illegal weapons from our streets, we keep Carlton County safe and secure.
