My top three priorities are public safety, housing stability, and strengthening our local economy. First, I will focus on preventing crime by expanding mental health services, youth intervention programs, and partnerships that address issues before they become emergencies. Second, I will work to increase housing stability by supporting affordable housing, expanding pathways to homeownership, and connecting residents with financial and credit resources. Third, I will strengthen our economy by helping existing small businesses grow, reducing barriers for entrepreneurs, and building a skilled local workforce. Strong communities are built when people are safe, can afford to live here, and have access to opportunity.
Safe elections and accessible elections go hand in hand. Every eligible voter should be able to cast a ballot, and every legal vote should be counted accurately. I support secure voter registration, accurate voter rolls, transparent election processes, and strong oversight, while ensuring accessible polling places, early voting, and accommodations for seniors, people with disabilities, military members, and others who need them.
One of our biggest challenges is that too many people reach a crisis before they can get help. We need earlier access to mental health care, stronger addiction recovery services, and better coordination between healthcare, law enforcement, schools, and community organizations. I support investing in prevention, expanding crisis response, and connecting people to services before they enter the criminal justice system. Strong communities invest in people before problems become emergencies.
My approach is simple: prioritize needs over wants, measure results, and spend taxpayer dollars responsibly. Every program should demonstrate value, accountability, and measurable outcomes. I will look for efficiencies, reduce duplication, pursue partnerships and grant opportunities, and invest in prevention when it lowers long term costs. Good government isn’t about spending more. It’s about delivering better results with the resources we have.
Immigration enforcement is primarily a federal responsibility, not the county board’s. The county’s role is to ensure public safety, provide services required by law, and support the fair administration of justice. My focus would be on protecting our communities, following the law, using taxpayer resources responsibly, and ensuring county services remain accessible to those who are legally entitled to receive them.
I believe the best decisions come from listening. I will be accessible, visible, and engaged year round, not just during election season as I currently am. That means attending community events, holding regular listening sessions, meeting with neighborhood groups, visiting local businesses, and maintaining open communication through phone, email, social media, and community updates. People deserve a commissioner who listens first, follows through, and stays connected.
Responsible Budgeting - To maintain the high level of service our residents expect and deserve, we must make responsible budget decisions that preserve critical programs while minimizing additional property tax burdens on county taxpayers.
Affordable Housing - Attracting and retaining the workforce needed to support our growing economy requires a sufficient supply of affordable housing options. Ensuring that people can afford to live and work in Olmsted County is essential to our long-term prosperity.
Public Safety - We must continue to support the efforts of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office by ensuring law enforcement has the resources, personnel, and tools necessary to keep our communities safe.
Olmsted County officials do an excellent job administering our elections and work hard to ensure they are safe, secure and fair. Their efforts have led to high levels of voter trust and engagement that exceed state and national levels. As county officials that oversee the administration of elections, it is our responsibility to ensure their integrity. That will be a top priority throughout my tenure in office.
Over the next decade, Olmsted County will face significant challenges from federal funding reductions, most specifically cuts to SNAP and Medicaid. Counties are on the front lines of administering these programs, and when federal support declines, local governments often face increased costs and responsibilities.
I will continue to advocate for fiscal restraint, responsible budgeting, and the protection of critical services for the most vulnerable members of our community.
The Olmsted County Policy Analysis and Communications (PAC) office conducts research and analysis to support important internal policy and operational decisions or community initiatives, facilitates process improvement for business units to support a culture of continuous improvement, and guides strategic planning and measurement to ensure we meet our long-term county goals and vision.

Engagement means listening before deciding. It means ensuring that neighborhoods, businesses, underserved communities, and residents all have a voice in decisions that shape Olmsted County. That's why I have consistently advocated for greater public involvement in major projects, including the future of the Seneca Foods site. I regularly engage with constituents through Letters to the Editor, Facebook posts, statements at County Board meetings, and my annual constituent letter.

Voter fraud is basically non existent. Voter suppression is a very serious issue. I will protect everyones right to vote.
The financial and pschyologial stress of housing and other costs are the greatest challenge. We solve this by having healthy accessible neighborhoods where people can grow and make connections. Our housing in these places must be more affordable.
I believe like many much larger areas Olmsted County & Rochester should eventually be merged into a single entity so the people of Rochester are not paying for duplicate services and competing local governments.
None, the county should only work with ICE when they have a lawful signed judicial warrent. ICE has murdered Minnesotans and currenly has violent criminals and conspirators still walking our streets. Local law enforcement should protect us from ICE.
