Blue Earth County is a political subdivision of the State of Minnesota. It's mission is to effectively and efficiently provide essential services. Major areas of responsibility include public safety, environmental protection, roads and bridges and human services.
The majority of the public believes voter ID should be required. For those without voter ID, the government should make it available for free or low cost.No easy
No easy answers to that. Homeless people often are mentally ill and self medicate with alcohol and/or illegal drugs. Methamphetamine is a serious problem in Blue Earth County. Treatment and housing must be provided to help them get back on their feet, but we need to be careful to not provide services so generous that they make the county a magnet for homeless people from other areas.
The main cost for the county is personnel. Voicemail and email has reduced some personnel needs. AI can be employed to increase efficiency.
The county should not interfere with federal authorities who are enforcing immigration law, but the county should try to protect residents from abuse.
Phone calls, emails, in-person meetings, and public meetings when necessary.
