Our democracy, the rule of law, and our neighbors are all under assault by the Trump administration and MAGA majorities in Congress. Our country’s future is at risk. Now is the time for tested leaders in Congress to hold President Trump accountable, stop the MAGA agenda, and restore responsible governance that will lead to transformational change with Democrats in power.
I will continue to take on the rising costs of healthcare, housing, food, and fuel that are making life unaffordable – all resulting from failed Republican policies. We must reverse the dangerous and deadly climate denial policies and at the same time protect our Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness from the dire threat of toxic mining.
President Trump’s reckless, irrational tariffs and illegal war of choice in Iran have sent costs soaring for Americans, making life increasingly unaffordable for all of us. I have voted (and will continue to do so) to end Trump’s tariff tax increase and this illegal war of choice against Iran. I’ve voted to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits for buyers on the individual health insurance marketplace, who’ve seen skyrocketing premiums as a result of Republican attacks on our healthcare.
Trump’s “drill, baby, drill” policies are condemning future generations to an uninhabitable planet that threatens human existence. In Congress, I’ve steered funding to climate and clean energy as smart investments that protect our plant. We must elect a Congress (and president in 2028) that will pass the Green New Deal to make federal investment in green jobs and transition the economy to net-zero emissions in ten years.
Without one Democratic vote, Republicans passed the Big Ugly Bill and cruelly stripped healthcare and food assistance away from tens of thousands of Minnesotans. The social safety net must be protected from further Republican cuts and strengthened and expanded to meet the essential needs of our neighbors in need. That includes achieving single-payer universal health care, expanding housing supply and affordability, and tuition-free community college.
The greatest threat to fair U.S. elections is Donald Trump. He is actively trying to rig the 2026 election by undermining trust in the electoral system, threatening state election officials, and trying to impose mandatory voter ID laws to disenfranchise millions of Americans who are eligible to vote. Every voter must remain vigilant to protect our right to vote. I am proud of Minnesota’s election process and Minnesota voters for having the highest turnout and the most secure elections.
It is my absolute honor and privilege to represent the people of the Fourth District in Congress. Serving in Congress during our nation’s 250th anniversary and during the Trump administration is a sobering reminder of the fragility of our democracy. "A republic, if you can keep it" were Benjamin Franklin’s words after the Constitutional Convention. It is my duty as a Member of Congress to represent my constituents and to ensure we preserve our Republic.
The U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority has established a pattern of siding against our fundamental rights – voting rights, reproductive rights, and human rights. Democrats must regain control of the Senate to put a firewall against Trump’s radical judicial appointments, and then win the White House in 2028 to ensure fair and ethical federal jurists are nominated to the federal bench. I support legislation to impose an enforceable ethics code on Supreme Court justices.
If elected, my top three priorities will be:
1. Prosecuting ICE: I will initiate a full-scale Congressional investigation into the Metro Surge and eliminate "qualified immunity".
2. Rebuilding our Immigration System: I will end 36 years of systemic neglect and create a modern immigration system led by an expert in refugee resettlement.
3. Reclaiming the American Dream: I will put affordability at the top of our agenda to tackle spiraling costs of food, childcare, and housing.
To combat inflation and support a vibrant economy, I will make affordability our North Star. I support a $17/hour national minimum wage indexed to inflation, rebuilding the CFPB, and prosecuting corporate price gouging. In agriculture, I will end chaotic tariff wars, expand fair export access, and break up agribusiness monopolies. Finally, I support tax reform to restore 50%+ top rates and close capital gains loopholes.
To combat the climate crisis, I fully support passing the Green New Deal to transition our economy and protect our future. Additionally, I will fight to protect natural treasures like the Boundary Waters by using every available legislative strategy to prevent mining, including leveraging omnibus bills and budget reconciliations.
We must protect the safety net by passing Medicare for All. For housing, we will increase supply through urban density zoning reforms and tax speculation aggressively. We must mandate universal Pre-K, cap childcare costs at 7% of household income, and cancel all federal student loan debt. Finally, we will protect Social Security by eliminating the payroll tax cap and increasing COLA adjustments.
To secure our democracy and expand voting access, I support immediately passing the Freedom to Vote Act. To ensure that our elections serve everyday people rather than wealthy special interests, we must overturn Citizens United and establish a system of federal public financing for political campaigns.
I view my responsibility as a congressperson to be a courageous defender of my community against federal overreach, ensuring government serves the people, not special interests. I will remain 100% funded by everyday people—refusing dark money and corporate PAC funds. Drawing on my hands-on background, I will work to fix broken systems and return focus to the real needs of working-class families.
To restore integrity and accountability to our federal judiciary, our court system requires immediate structural reform. I support establishing fixed 18-year term limits for Supreme Court Justices to ensure regular rotation and prevent lifetime political capture. Additionally, I support instituting a mandatory and legally enforceable Code of Ethics for the highest court in the land.
