I believe I'm the best person for this City Council seat because I don't just talk about community—I build it. Through organizing events, founding a local nonprofit, bringing neighbors together across generations, and advocating for inclusion, accessibility, and affordability, I've shown that leadership is about service. I listen first, work collaboratively, and make decisions based on what benefits our entire community. I bring lived experience, a strong work ethic, and a proven record of turning ideas into action. I'm running to ensure every resident feels heard, valued, and represented.

I believe the best representation begins with listening. I will engage with our community by being visible, approachable, and accessible—not just at City Council meetings, but at neighborhood events, local businesses, community gatherings, and by maintaining open communication through email, social media, and regular opportunities for residents to share their concerns and ideas. Our community is made up of really great people, who deserve to be heard and treated with dignity and respect.
Transparency and accountability are essential to earning and keeping the public's trust. If elected, I will communicate openly about City Council decisions, and make myself accessible to residents through regular community conversations, and public events. I believe government works best when people understand how decisions are made and have meaningful opportunities to participate before those decisions are finalized.
As someone who has owned a business previously, and would again if the right opportunity presents its self, I know that taxes and regulation make any business hard, its harder for small businesses.
Anything I can do to help more small businesses come to South St Paul and keep the ones we have. We will not be able to cut and paste Robert Street in SSP so we need to find things that serve the local community and bring in visitors. In 1993 I helped save the Exchange Building and a few years later bought the McLain's/Divemasters I have been there

I believe I'm the best candidate because I bring the right mix of experience, fresh perspective, and a commitment to putting people first. I've spent more than a decade in local and state government, helping organizations solve problems, build partnerships, and make thoughtful decisions. As a member of the South St. Paul Planning Commission, I've seen firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing our city. I'm also a husband, father, and youth baseball coach who understands what matters to our community. I'll work every day to support local businesses, listen to residents, and make decisions that strengthen South St. Paul for today and the future.
My top priorities are: 1) Strengthening our local economy by creating a Small Business Council that gives business owners a direct voice at City Hall. 2) Making city government more responsive by improving communication, transparency, and accountability. 3) Planning for South St. Paul's future through responsible budgeting and thoughtful development that protects taxpayers while encouraging smart, sustainable growth.

Transparency builds trust. I'll support recording City Council work sessions so residents can see and hear the conversations that shape important decisions, not just the final votes. I'll also communicate regularly with residents, explain the reasoning behind my decisions, and remain accessible and accountable. The more people understand how and why decisions are made, the stronger our local government becomes.
My life long experiences in South St. Paul make me an ideal candidate to continue as city council member. I understand the city, the finances, the public works and public safety needed for a strong member of our governing body. I have always worked well with others on issues within the city residents or within the council. I am very approachable and understanding.
My first priority will be to keep our budget within an acceptable limit of taxation.
My second priority will be to continue growth our our business bases such as the Hardman Triangle and the former sewage plant. My third priority will be to continue code enforcement within our housing. Many violations unanswered will lead to a decline our housing stock, which will lead to lower property value and lower tax capacity for our community. We do a good job at enforcement.
Being available at all times is key to being a good leader. Very few people take advantage of our openness and availability. We are not isolate. We are as much part of the daily lives within our community as you are.I would love to have people call, or stop by, or invite me as well as any other candidates to their homes to talk about issues.
We have been very open as a staff and as elected officials to answer any and all questions/concerns. Things don't happen immediately, but almost all issues are answered or replied to within a very reasonable time. Our books are open. Stop down to city hall and see any staff member.
