Brooklyn Center City Mayor

The mayor is usually the head of the city and may represent the city in front of other government bodies. They also can preside at council meetings and appoint city workers. I believe I am the best candidate because I bring the experience, leadership, and commitment needed to lead Brooklyn Center on day one. As a current City Council Member, Mayor Pro Tem, and accounting professional with more than 20 years of leadership experience, I understand how to make informed decisions, manage resources responsibly, and build consensus. I believe our city’s greatest asset is its people, and my approach is centered on listening, collaboration, transparency, and accountability. I am committed to bringing people together, focusing on solutions, and ensuring every resident has confidence that their voice is heard. I am ready to lead with integrity and a vision that puts residents first.
My top three priorities are strengthening public safety, encouraging responsible economic development, and restoring trust in city government. Safe neighborhoods help our community thrive. Responsible growth creates opportunities while strengthening our tax base. I also believe residents deserve a city government that listens, communicates openly, and follows through on its commitments.
Transparency starts with open communication and accountability. As Mayor, I will encourage open dialogue, provide clear and timely information, and ensure decisions are made ethically and in the best interest of our community. I believe in listening to residents, following through on commitments, and holding myself and city government accountable for the decisions we make. Trust is earned through honesty, consistency, and doing what is right.
The best decisions are made when residents have a seat at the table. I will continue meeting people where they are, through neighborhood meetings, community events, and open communication. I will listen, seek feedback before major decisions, and ensure residents know their voices matter. Building trust starts with listening, responding, and following through. Building a stronger Brooklyn Center takes all of us working together.
Public safety has been a priority of mine since my campaign for City Council. It begins with strong partnerships between law enforcement, residents, and community organizations. I support community policing that builds trust, encourages communication, and holds everyone accountable. I will continue supporting efforts that reduce crime, strengthen neighborhoods, and ensure every resident feels safe, respected, and heard.
