Healthcare is a passion because I have been involved in healthcare since 1982. I was involved as a first responder. I became an RN and that lead me to become a nurse practitioner. I have seen healthcare going the wrong direction with decreased healthcare for all and our rural hospitals and clinics struggling. Education and farming are also near and dear to my heart.
There is a shortage of healthcare providers in our area. This is made harder by deciding that nursing is not a profession which decreases their ability to get loans. This results in nurses seeking to become nurse practitioners who cannot obtain loans that are crucial. I would have Missouri recognize nurses as professionals.

I have 13 grandchildren from ages 15 to 3. I have a very keen interest in education. My wife and I have been foster parents, and I am interested in improving foster care and adoption in Missouri. I am very interested in pharmacy and healthcare related fields.
Last year I worked a great deal on PBM reform and was unsuccessful. This year we will work on that again and I hope to work a great deal on the foster care and adoption laws in Missouri, in an effort to make it better for children and potential parents.
