The future my children and other Oklahoma families will inherit is the single most important reason I decided to seek public office. As a father of three, a nurse, and a healthcare leader, I see how decisions made at the Capitol affect ordinary families. My wife is a public school teacher, and I see firsthand the challenges educators face. In healthcare, I see the consequences when people struggle to access affordable, quality care. I believe government should work for the people it represents, not just those with money or political influence. I want my children to grow up in an Oklahoma where quality education, affordable healthcare, economic opportunity, and personal freedom are available to everyone. I am seeking office because I believe public service is a responsibility, and I want to help build a state where families can thrive.
Keeping young professionals in Oklahoma requires more than attracting employers. We must create communities where people can build careers, afford homes, raise families, and enjoy a high quality of life. I support expanding workforce development, apprenticeships, and partnerships between colleges and employers, particularly in healthcare, technology, education, and advanced manufacturing. We should invest in affordable housing, childcare, broadband infrastructure, and competitive wages. I also support incentives for small businesses and entrepreneurs who create sustainable, well-paying jobs. Student loan assistance for professionals serving underserved communities could help address workforce shortages. Most importantly, Oklahoma must invest in public education and protect individual freedoms. Young professionals should see Oklahoma as a place to build their futures, not somewhere they need to leave to find opportunity.
I support legislation establishing stable, adequate, and equitable funding for Oklahoma public schools, including adjustments for inflation and the additional needs of students with disabilities and those in underserved districts. I would support competitive teacher salaries, increased classroom funding, and measures to recruit and retain qualified educators. As the spouse of a special education teacher, I understand the importance of fully funding special education services, providing appropriate staffing, and reducing unnecessary administrative burdens. I also support expanding access to school counselors, mental health services, and early childhood education. Public funds should be subject to transparency and accountability requirements. Article XIII of the Oklahoma Constitution places responsibility for maintaining public schools on the Legislature, and I believe we must treat that obligation as a priority rather than an afterthought.
Oklahoma needs a more diversified and resilient economy that is not overly dependent on any single industry or revenue source. While energy will remain an important part of our economy, we should expand investment in healthcare, aerospace, technology, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, and renewable energy. I support strengthening small businesses through access to capital, workforce training, and reducing unnecessary regulatory barriers. We must also maintain responsible state budgeting, protect our Rainy Day Fund, and avoid long-term commitments based on temporary revenue increases. Investments in education, infrastructure, and affordable healthcare are equally important because a healthy, educated workforce attracts employers and supports economic growth. Economic resilience means creating a state where businesses can succeed, workers earn sustainable wages, and families can withstand financial uncertainty.
