Growing up in Dubois and recently returning to my hometown, I understand the importance of community involvement. I served 23 years in the Wyoming Army National Guard, advancing from Private (E-1) to Sergeant Major (E-9). During my career, I held leadership and staff positions with responsibilities in human resources, logistics, operations, policy development, SOP writing, and strategic planning. As a small business owner, I bring practical experience in budgeting, problem-solving, and accountability, and I am committed to serving Dubois with integrity and common sense.
While I support commercial air service, public transportation, and ambulance services, I do not support this tax. Taxpayer dollars should be dedicated to transportation and emergency services, not economic development. There is still public mistrust following the defeat of the ½-cent economic development tax in 2024. I am also concerned that the current MOU contains language allowing the funding model to be changed in the future, without public vote. Before asking voters to approve a new tax, we need greater transparency, accountability, and public trust.
Honest answer, we need to look at short term rentals in Dubois, I know there is currently a maximum allowed short term rental properties in Dubois. We should look and see if that number is constraining our ability to have more people and children move into our community to help our workforce, businesses and school system.
There are not many ways that the town council can directly influence this. If you have other ideas, please let me know, I would like to listen.

A community that offers safe streets and schools, strong and reliable emergency services of trained and qualified first responders, trust in our leadership, opportunities for local businesses, housing options for residents. Encouraging involvement, supporting local events and organizations.

I am running because I care deeply about Dubois and want to help keep it a community where people can afford to live, work, and raise their families. I previously served on the Town Council and understand both the responsibility and challenges that come with the position. As a school district Business Manager, I bring experience with budgets, grants, policy, and working with boards and public agencies. Most importantly, I am willing to listen, ask questions, do the research, and work with others to find solutions.
I wholeheartedly support EMS and believe reliable ambulance service is essential to our community. I also support using sales tax rather than placing more burden on property owners, because visitors help contribute to the services they use. My concern is how the money is divided between ambulance, air service, and ground transportation. Voters deserve to know exactly where their money is going and whether those percentages can be changed later without voter approval.
I believe we need to take a closer look at short-term rentals. The Town currently allows 25 permits, and many are held by people who do not live in Dubois or even Wyoming. Short-term rentals support tourism, but they also remove homes from our already limited housing supply. I would support reviewing the current policy and looking at ways to better balance short-term rentals with the housing needs of the people who live and work here.
To me, a vibrant and livable town is a place where people can afford to live, work, raise their families, and stay for generations. It means strong local businesses, good schools, dependable emergency services, and housing for the people who work here. Vibrant doesn’t have to mean bigger. We can welcome new businesses, visitors, and residents while protecting our small-town character, access to public lands, and the outdoor way of life that makes Dubois special.
