Fremont County Clerk
The Fremont County Clerk serves for a four-year term. There are no term limits. The Clerk receives a salary of $88,000 per year. They are eligible for health insurance coverage and will be enrolled as members of the Wyoming Retirement System unless they are otherwise employed by an entity participating in WRS at the time they assume office. The Clerk must be a registered and qualified elector, which includes that persons must be at least 18 years of age on the day of the election at which he/she may offer to vote. They must reside in the county they represent.

Why are you running for this office? Describe the experience and skills that make you the most qualified candidate for this office.
Given the changes to election procedures, how will you ensure that the public understands the current voting process?
How will you ensure accessible voting, such as voter registration and absentee ballot options?
What is your public outreach to access and register new voters, especially first-time young voters, and voters moving into Fremont County.
I have been so very fortunate to be the Fremont County Clerk since 1994. I enjoy working for the people of our county to navigate all of the local government nuances. I love the job and helping customers and to find ways to cut through bureaucratic red tape. I have the experience and the desire to continue to serve.
Voting has evolved in many ways. Some of those changes have been necessary and are really not that burdensome. I feel like I am transparent and I practice education of the process all of the time. I like going to the schools and helping young people learn the importance of their right to register and vote and hope that helps build leaders from those experiences. I will continue to advocate for fair and accurate elections and listen to all constituents on their concerns and see how I can help.
I have always done all of the options available by law to make sure all voters have options that make them comfortable in voting. Our voting public need to stay informed and I try to make sure we are a strong part of that process. We will continue to have early absentee voting and a drop box. There is still the mail in option and dropping off your absentee and going to the polls. With vote centers, it allows all voters to vote wherever they are on election day in a fair, safe and effective manner.
As I mentioned, I try to get to schools to educate the voters while they are still young, but not too young not to remember. I have had about 5 years of students who started in our election process as grade schoolers who are now voters. We do lots of media education. I try to do any speaking engagements if asked and we are always available by phone to answer any questions. I do a candidate school to help make sure the candidates know what the rules are. We have a robust election judges training and our staff is knowledgeable and willing to help all the time. I always do voter registration drives and will be advertising some of those soon.
