Public education: Article 9 of the Missouri Constitution dictates the state must maintain free public schools for all persons. A better-educated Missourian is equipped to make informed decisions that lead to innovation. Educational innovation can improve mental health, wellness, safety and security. I’m committed to supporting free quality education for all Missourians.
Improve literacy rates: sponsor legislation that lowers compulsory attendance age and addresses screen time overuse. Encourage businesses and corporate sponsors to facilitate reading incentives. Continue to work across the aisle developing a literacy plan that aligns with students’ needs across Missouri and advocate for more instruction and incentives for literacy coaches.
