I am passionate about policies focused on improving community and individual health and well-being, especially for vulnerable populations. I am exhausted from seeing the consequences of bad policies which have targeted Black, Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC), the poor, the disabled, women, innocent children, and seniors. Policies such as lenient gun laws, corporate handouts, the underfunding of public education, social programs, and healthcare have created significant disparities often driven by social, political, and economic inequities.
I believe my responsibility would be as it has been the last seven years – to prioritize legislation that would improve the overall well-being and upward mobility of our most vulnerable populations. As a policy maker, I have and will continue to work with my colleagues to sponsor, co-sponsor, or vote in favor of legislation that promotes sensible gun laws; improves access to quality and affordable food, health care, education and housing; supports local and small businesses and protects everyday hardworking Missourian’s right to collectively bargain for living wages, benefits, and safe working conditions.
