I am passionate about public education, healthcare, and lowering the cost of living because I have lived the challenges so many Missouri families face. As a single mother, I worked hard to provide for my daughters and know what it's like to make difficult choices between paying bills and meeting everyday needs. Those experiences shaped who I am and fueled my commitment to public service. As a former educator, current school board member, and healthcare professional, I have seen firsthand how decisions made in Jefferson City impact children, families, seniors, and working people every day. I believe government should work for the people it serves by investing in strong public schools, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and creating opportunities that help families succeed instead of just getting by. I am running for the Missouri Senate District 34 to be a voice for working families and deliver practical, commonsense solutions that strengthen our communities and improve lives.
My top legislative priority in 2027 will be passing legislation to cap the cost of insulin at $100 per month. As a single mother, Medicaid was there for my family when we needed it most. Without Medicaid, I would not have been able to afford the $400 EpiPen my daughter needed to treat a life-threatening allergy. No parent should have to choose between paying for lifesaving medication and paying the bills. Working in healthcare, I have also seen how high prescription drug costs force families to delay or skip treatment, leading to poorer health and higher costs. That's why my campaign is focused on making healthcare more affordable and lowering the cost of living for working families. I will work across the aisle to pass an insulin cap, protect access to affordable healthcare, and fight for real solutions that put Missouri families first and make a meaningful difference for the people of Senate District 34.

Public policy starts with values. Whether it's healthcare, education, fair taxation, or community well-being, government must act for the benefit of everyone, not just a select few. In the Missouri Senate I want to ensure that policies reflect the needs and voices of everyday Missourians. I believe legislative decisions should be guided by fairness, compassion, and the common good. For me, public policy must be grounded in the principle of treating others as we would like to be treated.
We must change the agenda in the Missouri legislature from one of serving a wealthy few, back to letting the welfare of the people being the supreme law. This means keeping public money for public education. It means finding ways to expand access to healthcare and making prescription drugs more affordable. It means being an advocate for the well-being of communities across our state. It means ending policies that widen the income disparity in our state. It means working on behalf of the people in this state and not against them. It means rising above self-interest in order to serve.
