For over 20 years, my work has centered on nonprofit leadership, workforce development, and public service in Jackson County. As President of the Urban Ranger Corps, I focus daily on youth development and empowering families.
My leadership in city government provides me with firsthand knowledge of how to manage public dollars responsibly. Appointed by Mayor Quinton Lucas, I serve on the Housing Trust Fund Board to expand affordable housing and on the City’s Reparations Commission to promote equity and community investment. As a PIAC Representative appointed by Mayor Pro Tem Ryana Parks-Shaw, I also helped oversee $4 million annually in neighborhood infrastructure and safety improvements.
These roles qualify me to deliver a transparent government that prioritizes safer communities, affordable housing, and expanded opportunities for youth and working families.
Over the next year, my primary focus will be ensuring government accountability, transparency, and balanced investments that directly improve the quality of life for Jackson County residents.
My immediate priorities include:
Public Safety & Youth Support: Expanding prevention, mentorship, and mental health resources to address community violence and keep families safe.
Affordable Housing & Tax Relief: Working to address rising property tax concerns and expanding stable, affordable housing opportunities.
Economic Equity: Strengthening workforce development programs to combat economic inequality and build clearer career pathways.
Fiscal Transparency: Partnering with community leaders to deliver greater budget transparency, easier-to-understand public reporting, and strict oversight of taxpayer-funded projects.
I will advocate for community input during the budgeting process so residents always know where resources are going and can see measurable, positive impact.
