I bring more than 30 years of legal, leadership, and public service experience, and a lifelong commitment to Jackson County.

As a partner at Fields & Brown and General Counsel for the Hickman Mills C-1 School District, I have experience navigating complex legal, financial, and policy issues while working collaboratively to solve problems. I served as President of the Jackson County Bar Association, Regional Director for the National Bar Association, Vice President of NAMWOLF, and founded the NAMWOLF Pipeline Diversity Scholarship, which has awarded more than $300,000 to minority, women, and LGBTQIA+ law students.

I currently serve on the Board of Directors for Mazuma Credit Union. I am a graduate of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce’s Centurions Leadership Program.

My experience, along with my commitment to transparency, accountability, and accessible leadership, has prepared me to deliver thoughtful, effective representation for the residents of Jackson County.
1. Restore Trust & Leadership Jackson County deserves leadership that listens, solves problems, and delivers results. After years of property tax assessment errors and poor communication, restoring trust starts with accountable leadership. I will ensure every part of the county has a voice and work collaboratively to make transparent, responsible decisions.

2. Affordable Living & Property Taxes Families shouldn't be priced out of their communities. We need more affordable housing, protections for homeowners and tenants, and a fair, accurate property tax assessment process. I will work with the County Executive, Legislature, and Assessor to improve accountability and prevent costly mistakes.

3. Modernize Infrastructure Safe roads, bridges, parks, sidewalks, transit, and public facilities are essential. I'll prioritize smart investments and partnerships that improve infrastructure, support growth, and make Jackson County more livable for everyone.

I am the best qualified to serve as an At-Large County Legislator because I am a Gen Z candidate running against someone who has been in office for a decade, the longest serving legislator serving 28 years, longer than I've been alive.

I was born in Independence, grew up in government housing, later moved to Grain Valley, and graduated from Blue Springs. As an adult, I’ve built my life in Kansas City. This journey has given me a deep understanding of communities across all 18 cities in our county. What sets my campaign apart is a progressive working class agenda: we’re running to build a countywide public transit system, a guaranteed jobs program, and create transit corridors that spur affordable housing.

Since announcing in May 2025, we’ve knocked an average of 100 doors every day across Jackson County and thousands of doors across all 18 cities. We are building a movement and we're proud to have the endorsement of the AFT Local 691, Run for Something, and Senator Bernie Sanders!
I’m proud of the coalition we’ve built because it is united around a bold agenda to tackle the affordability crisis facing Jackson County. We’re running to build a countywide public transit system connecting all 18 cities and towns, launch a guaranteed jobs program, and build transit corridors that spur affordable housing and economic opportunity. Before being fired by the Trump Administration last June, I worked with the Department of Energy on workforce development. Creating pathways to good paying jobs is what I know best. After losing that position, I decided to run for office and put that experience to work making our county a better place.

We also must address big money in politics. I am the only candidate in this race who refuses PAC money and refuses money from entities tied to the very data center projects. That’s because I support a county level ban on data centers and Flock surveillance cameras. I will fight for residents, and those wanting to exploit our resources.

I am a small business owner, community advocate, and a re-elected member of the Grain Valley Board of Education, where I have experience overseeing budgets, making policy decisions, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly. Through my business leadership, I have managed employees, balanced budgets, and worked through complex challenges that require practical problem-solving and accountability. I am actively involved in numerous community and nonprofit organizations throughout Jackson County and have built strong relationships with residents, local leaders, and stakeholders. My experience in both the public and private sectors has given me a firsthand understanding of the issues facing Jackson County families, businesses, and taxpayers. I am committed to bringing transparency, fiscal responsibility, and common-sense leadership to county government.
My top priorities would be restoring public trust through greater transparency and accountability, protecting taxpayers, and improving the efficiency of county government. First, I would advocate for responsible budgeting and careful oversight of taxpayer funds to ensure county resources are focused on essential services and measurable results. I would do my part to make sure homeowners, businesses and taxing jurisdictions are protected from assessment mistakes. Second, I would support initiatives that strengthen public safety and provide law enforcement, first responders, and community partners with the tools they need to keep residents safe. Third, I would work to promote responsible economic development that expands opportunities for businesses, creates jobs, and grows the tax base without placing additional burdens on taxpayers.

Jackson County has tremendous strengths. I firmly believe our best days are ahead of us. Let’s make Jackson County prosper!
