I am qualified to serve in this office because I have the experience necessary to do the job well. My background is in logistics and supply chain management, which means that building efficient processes is part and parcel of my daily job. That skill set is what is needed to improve the office of the County Clerk, including changing office hours to make the office more accessible and improving how the office runs, so our taxpayer dollars are responsibly spent.

My priorities include reforming how county elected officials decide their salaries, so we can focus on the county's needs. Improve accessibility at the Clerk's office by having the office open until 5:00 PM daily, not 4:00 PM, and offering extended hours once a month, and improve efficiency by improving the digitization of records and forms. And finally, through keeping the office singularly focused on serving the citizens of Platte County by operating in a strictly non-partisan manner.

I owned my own small business for 30 years. I have lived in Platte County since 1984 on the same property. I was a leader of various Knights of Columbus groups both locally and at the state level. I led raising hundred of thousands of dollars and recruiting a hundred volunteers per event while an active member of the KofC. I have dealt with copyright law, music and business contracts in my business. I can read and understand statutes and know when and how to carry out the duties of an office. I also know when to seek out resources to aid my leadership. I have successfully appealed my own property taxes and assessments and influenced county policy. I am a father of one son and dealt with being a caregiver to my late wife, mother and father. I am 67 years old and have the experience and knowledge to tackle the duties of the County Clerk's office.

To operate the Clerk's office efficiently and conveniently to serve the Citizens of Platte County using my business experience. I plan to evaluate the office operations, implement efficiency in personnel and use technology to aid in making the office more convenient for county citizens and businesses, not just open the office one more hour each day. I also wish to tone down and eliminate the drama taking place these past years and establish cooperative communications between elected offices. Most importantly, I will work hard to be the protector of property owners against rising and excessive property assessments, rising levies and property taxes. I must work within the rules, but I will also advocate for change that benefits the taxpayers.
