I bring over 40 years of leadership, budgeting, regulatory compliance, legislative experience, organizational planning, and customer service to my campaign for Montezuma County Clerk & Recorder. Throughout my career and community involvement, I have worked with budgets, records, policies, and compliance requirements while helping organizations operate efficiently and serve the public with professionalism and respect. The Clerk & Recorder’s Office is where government meets the people every single day. Citizens deserve an office that is welcoming, efficient, transparent, and dependable. Most people are not looking for confusion at the counter — they simply want help navigating the process, preferably without making three trips back home for paperwork. My goal is to build on the office’s strong foundation with fresh eyes, fresh ideas, and modern solutions while continuing to provide the respectful, reliable service the people of Montezuma County deserve for years to come.

My First 90-Day Plan as Clerk & Recorder
My first 90 days will focus on customer service, efficiency, and public trust.
Days 1–30
Meet with staff in Elections, Motor Vehicle, Recording, and Vital Records to review procedures, staffing needs, and customer service challenges. Evaluate office workflows, peak traffic times, and website accessibility. Begin discussions with county departments and community partners.
Days 31–60
Improve customer service by implementing a front intake/greeter system to help direct customers and reduce wait times. Expand access to forms, checklists, and information online and in-office. Review appointment options while maintaining walk-in availability.
Days 61–90
Develop recommendations for workflow improvements, staff cross-training, and modernization opportunities. Expand voter education and transparency efforts while maintaining secure and accurate elections. Establish service goals focused on professionalism, efficiency, and accountability.
I support secure, fair, and accessible elections. Colorado already has strong election laws, and I believe people gain confidence in elections when those laws are followed openly and consistently. Important protections include signature verification, bipartisan oversight, secure ballot handling, ballot tracking, post-election audits, and voting equipment that is not connected to the internet during voting or counting.
I also support keeping voter rolls accurate under Colorado law by updating records for voters who have moved, passed away, or are no longer eligible to vote. Clean voter rolls help reduce mistakes and build public trust.
I would also like to explore an independent Risk-Limiting Audit service to add another layer of verification and confidence in election results.
At the same time, voting should remain easy to access for eligible voters through clear information, accessible voting locations and equipment, ballot tracking, and better online access to election information.
I want to serve now because I am at a time in my life where I believe I need to step up and make a difference. We need practical changes that help make local government easier to understand, easier to access, and more responsive to the people.
I have four children, and of those four, only one still lives in Colorado. That matters to me. If we want our children and grandchildren to stay, come back, raise families, and build a future here, then we have to be involved. We have to do our part to make Colorado and Montezuma County a better place for them.
The Clerk & Recorder’s Office touches nearly every family through elections, vehicle services, records, marriage licenses, and vital records. People deserve an office that is professional, respectful, efficient, and focused on service.
My goal is to build on the strong foundation already in place, bring fresh ideas, improve communication, and keep the office focused on serving people — not politics.
