I’m passionate about public policy areas that make a real difference in people’s daily lives, including protecting our water resources and public lands, supporting farmers and ranchers, strengthening rural healthcare, improving infrastructure and energy reliability, and expanding educational opportunity. One of my top priorities is protecting Colorado’s public lands, water, and natural resources, which are central to our economy, culture, agriculture, and outdoor way of life. As an outdoorsman, I believe we have a responsibility to preserve these resources for future generations. I’m also focused on affordability issues like housing, healthcare, and the rising cost of living. Families across Western and Southern Colorado are working hard but struggling with increasing costs, and I believe government should focus on practical solutions that lower costs and strengthen local economies. Healthcare is deeply personal to me because of my family’s background in healthcare and public service. I believe access to quality, affordable care should not depend on where you live, especially in rural communities facing provider shortages and long travel distances. I’m also passionate about infrastructure, broadband, and economic development because I’ve seen firsthand how strategic investments can create jobs, expand opportunity, and help rural communities thrive. Education is another important priority. As a product of public education, I believe every student deserves access to opportunity
I support immigration reform that is secure, orderly, and fair. That means strengthening border security, modernizing our legal immigration system, and creating practical solutions for long-term, law-abiding contributors to our economy and communities. We need a secure and well-managed border, with investments in technology, staffing, and coordination focused on public safety, trafficking, and criminal activity. At the same time, industries across Colorado’s 3rd District, including agriculture, construction, hospitality, and healthcare, rely on immigrant labor, and our current legal system is not meeting workforce needs. We need more efficient visa and work permit programs that work for both employers and workers. I also support an earned pathway to legal status for individuals who have lived here for years, are working, paying taxes, and contributing to their communities. Any solution should include accountability, background checks, and clear requirements. Most Americans agree on the basic goals: secure borders, fair enforcement, legal pathways, and a functioning system. Congress needs to stop treating immigration as a political talking point and start working toward practical, bipartisan solutions that strengthen our economy, uphold the rule of law, and reflect America’s values of fairness, responsibility, and opportunity.
I believe Colorado’s elections are secure, fair, and among the strongest in the country. Colorado is widely recognized for running accessible and well-organized elections, and election workers across the country deserve credit for the difficult and important work they do. At the same time, I also understand why many Americans have concerns about trust in institutions and the political system more broadly. Restoring confidence requires transparency, accountability, and leaders who are willing to speak honestly and responsibly about elections rather than fueling division or distrust for political gain. I also think it is important to make sure voters trust the process by keeping elections well-run, well-funded, and easy to understand. In my view, the goal is not to make voting harder; it is to make elections both secure and accessible so every eligible voter can participate with confidence. Healthy democracies depend on people trusting that elections are fair, lawful, and legitimate, regardless of which party wins. That trust is something we all have a responsibility to protect.
