I am passionate about protecting and expanding voting rights, ensuring every child has access to a high quality public education, and making healthcare a human right for all Americans. I believe the right to vote is the foundation of our democracy, and we must restore and strengthen the protections of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to ensure every eligible voter can participate freely and fairly without barriers or suppression.

As a First Gen graduate and Regent for the CU Board of Regents, I understand how transformative education can be. Every student, regardless of race, income, or background, deserves access to safe schools, strong teachers, affordable higher education, and the opportunity to succeed. I believe we must invest in public education, support students and educators, and create pathways to economic opportunity for future generations.

I also believe healthcare is a basic human right, not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it. We must protect women’s reproductive freedom and ensure every woman has the right to make her own healthcare decisions without government interference. We must strengthen elder care so seniors can age with dignity, access affordable medication, and long term care. We also need a renewed national focus on mental health services, including access to affordable counseling, addiction, crisis care, support for veterans, and families struggling in silence.
Immigration reform must be rooted in safety, fairness, dignity, and common sense. We need secure borders and an immigration system that is humane, efficient, and reflects our values as a nation.

Congress should create a clear pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, essential workers, farmworkers, and long term residents who contribute to this country every day. We must modernize the asylum and visa systems, reduce processing backlogs, and ensure all people receive fair treatment and due process under the law.

I also believe we must reform or abolish current ICE operations that function like paramilitary enforcement in our cities and neighborhoods. Communities should not live in fear of aggressive raids that separate families, terrorize children, and discourage people from reporting crimes or seeking help. Public safety is strengthened through trust between communities and law enforcement, not fear and intimidation.

Immigrants strengthen America. They serve in our military, build businesses, power our economy, and enrich our communities. Our immigration policies should reflect both national security and basic human dignity.
I believe American elections are fundamentally secure, and there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud affecting election outcomes. Election workers across the country work tirelessly to ensure our elections are fair, accurate, and transparent.

The greatest threat to the integrity of our democracy is not widespread fraud, but voter suppression, disinformation, partisan gerrymandering, and efforts to make it harder for eligible Americans to vote. We must restore and strengthen the protections of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to protect equal access to the ballot box and prevent discriminatory voting laws from disenfranchising communities.

Congress should pass updated federal voting rights protections that guarantee fair access to early voting, mail voting, voter registration, and nonpartisan election administration. Every eligible American should be able to vote freely, fairly, and without intimidation or unnecessary barriers.

A strong democracy depends on both secure elections and public confidence that every vote counts and every voice matters.
