Submitted Biography Hetal Doshi is a first-generation American, 20-year lawyer, former federal prosecutor, and candidate for Colorado Attorney General. She spent seven years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Colorado for the U.S. Department of Justice where she prosecuted white collar crimes, public corruption, and civil rights violations, including enforcement of hate crimes laws. In 2022, the Biden-Harris Administration appointed Hetal to serve as Deputy Assistant Attorney General, where she was DOJ’s top antitrust litigator overseeing all civil and criminal litigation. There she led and supervised hundreds of lawyers and professional staff fighting for consumers, innovators, and entrepreneurs in generational cases against corporate giants like Google, Apple, Ticketmaster, and RealPage. Hetal would make history as the first Democratic woman to ever be elected as Attorney General for Colorado, as well as first woman of color to serve in that role, and the first South Asian elected to any statewide office.

As your next Attorney General, I will fight - and win - for Colorado. That means taking on a lawless federal government led by Trump and his cronies when they come for our elections, our economic security, our immigrant communities, and our rights, including abortion and protections for LGBTQ+ Coloradans.

But that’s not enough on its own. We have to build a better, lasting future for Coloradans where every family has a shot to achieve the American Dream. A future where we can have housing, healthcare, and food, not one of the three.

That means taking on corruption and cheating - whether that’s coming from corporations who break the law or from public officials. It also means fighting for our environment, clean and renewable energy, and critically, water, especially for our rural communities.

I’ve taken on the biggest, most consequential corporate prosecutions in modern history (cases against Ticketmaster, Google, Apple, and the company that used algorithms to jack up rents).

As AG, I’ll be relentless in holding accountable the corporate polluters who contaminate our air, water, and land. I’ll fight to make sure that every Coloradan feels safe - whether at school, in a house of worship, accessing health care, or just trying to live their lives.

I am a first-generation American and the proud daughter of two immigrants who gave everything to make sure I had a shot at a better future. That’s why this fight - and this moment - is personal for me.
Justice means doing the right thing, for the right reason, in the right way, without fear or favor. Yet too often we see a two-tiered system of justice that has no problem holding working families accountable for every law violation while those with power, money, and connections rarely face consequences.

That’s why, for more than a decade, I served Colorado and our country by taking on corporations, corrupt politicians, and those who violate our civil rights. I believe “equal justice under the law” isn’t just a slogan; it’s the core of our democracy and our freedoms. I was appointed by the Biden-Harris Administration as the top antitrust litigator for the Department of Justice - a role where I led more than 800 lawyers and staff in a transformational era of accountability on behalf of working families.

I’ve taken on international giants like Ticketmaster and Google. I filed a massive national lawsuit against RealPage and corporate landlords that used algorithms to jack up rents. I’ve blocked multi-billion dollar mergers that would’ve made executives rich, but left the rest of us with higher prices and lower wages.

Too often, the sentencing system seems to prosecute and incarcerate without focusing on the root causes of crime, including a lack of economic opportunity, mental health treatment, and addiction. My record is one of fighting back and demanding better. As AG, I’ll continue to be fearless in defending everyone’s shot at the American Dream.
None.

Enforcing federal immigration law is the federal government's job, not Colorado's. As Attorney General, I'll make sure our limited local and state resources are focused on protecting Coloradans and enforcing our laws. I’ll also take on anyone who tries to make us complicit in ICE’s lawlessness. ICE agents - just like any other law enforcement - should be unmasked and identify themselves. This is the core of accountability and transparency in a democratic society.

This is personal for me. Not only am I a first-generation American and the daughter of two immigrants, I also know that Colorado is safer when people feel comfortable reporting crimes and testifying without fear. That trust collapses when ICE operates without limits in our schools, courthouses, and hospitals.

That is why for years I’ve provided know your rights and hate crimes training for our immigrant communities and faith communities. As Attorney General, I’ll continue this work and stand up tot the federal government when they break the law.

Importantly, as the only former federal prosecutor in this race, I know how to fights back against the federal government. This is critical as the fights ahead will be waged in federal courts and will be decided on federal constitutional law principles. This isn’t the time for on-the-job training – we need an experienced litigator who is ready on Day One – and I’m that candidate.
Colorado knows all too well the heartbreaking of toll gun violence, particularly for students. As someone who has prosecuted firearms crimes in Colorado, I know the importance of common-sense, data-based firearms policy, like red flag laws, background checks, and robust enforcement of gun safety laws.

have earned the Moms Demand Action Gun Safety Candidate of Distinction in recognition of my work and experience in this area. I also have a proven track record of taking on BigTech at the highest levels - experience that is critical to fighting social media addiction and other contributors to school violence.

As Attorney General, I will continue to partner with community organizations, law enforcement, and families to fight for accountability, particularly for our vulnerable populations including children and victims of domestic violence. I will also vigorously defend Colorado law - to include our 2013 extended magazine ban.

As the only former federal prosecutor in this field and someone with deep, proven experience in federal courts litigating the limits of federal constitutional law, I am best positioned to lead the fight to defend our gun laws all the way up to the United States Supreme Court - and win.

The battle to keep our communities and children safe is existential and I will use the law every single day to fight for us.

My top priorities are public safety, our environment, protecting rights and the rule of law, affordability and consumer protection, abortion access, civil rights, and defending Colorado from federal overreach.

I am ready to lead the Attorney General's Office and deliver for every Coloradan from day one. I served in the Colorado Attorney General's Office as Deputy Attorney General, and I previously led the Sex Crimes Unit in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, and then the entire office of more than 1,300 attorneys and staff.

I will strengthen enforcement against consumer fraud, wage theft, predatory landlords, and corporate practices that drive up costs. I will work with local law enforcement, prosecutors, community organizations, and advocates to reduce crime, protect victims, and expand programs like mental health diversion, juvenile diversion, and restorative justice. My record shows we can hold dangerous people accountable while also reducing recidivism and improving fairness.

I will also use the office to protect vulnerable communities and defend reproductive freedom, gender-affirming care, LGBTQ+ rights, immigrant protections, voting rights, and civil rights.

On day one, I am prepared to challenge federal overreach when Coloradans’ rights, funding, environment, education system, health care system, or communities are under attack. This office requires legal judgment, courtroom experience, and the ability to lead major legal teams in fighting for justic
Justice means doing the right thing. It means protecting victims, holding people accountable, preventing future harm, and ensuring the law is applied fairly no matter who you are. I am a prosecutor who believes strongly in diversion, treatment, accountability and fairness

I fought for justice in the King Soopers' mass murder and the Pearl Street firebombing - an antisemitic act of terror..

Sentencing should protect the community, hold people accountable for harm done, deter future crime, support rehabilitation where possible, and provide a sense of justice for victims and families. I have prosecuted the most serious crimes but no case is the same, and our system fails when it relies only on punishment without addressing mental health, addiction, poverty, trauma, and other root causes.

I served as the Chair of Colorado’s Sentencing Reform Task Force. Also, my office is regarded as a leader in criminal justice reform. I know what this work takes and why reform is required.

Our current system is not fully meeting its purposes. It has produced racial and socioeconomic disparities, overused incarceration, and failed to provide enough treatment and prevention. As District Attorney, I created Colorado's first Mental Health Diversion Program, launched restorative justice and diversion programs, created the Fresh Start Warrant Forgiveness Program, and partnered with an outside group to publicly examine racial disparities.
Zero.

The law applies to everyone, including federal agents. If ICE agents or any law enforcement officers violate Colorado law or the rights of the people in our communities, they must be held accountable. As District Attorney, starting in 2018, I led an Immigrant Protection Program, provided Know Your Rights training, and prosecuted an employer who threatened immigrant workers with ICE after they spoke up about being underpaid. This is the kind of real protection I will bring to the Attorney General’s Office.

State government should not be used as an extension of federal immigration enforcement. Colorado’s responsibility is to enforce state law, protect public safety, defend civil rights ,and ensure that every person feels safe to report crimes, testify in court, seek medical care, go to school, and participate in society and life without fear.

If victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, wage theft, or another crime are too afraid to call the police because of ICE, our entire community is less safe as a result, and victims deserve protection and justice. That is what I have fought to protect, and I will continue to uphold the rule of law while putting communities and people first.

In 2025, I helped lead the effort to take this approach statewide by expanding immigrant protections at the state level. Based on that new state law, police cannot cooperate with, or assist, ICE.

I will always fight for public safety, victims, and marginalized communities.
Of the candidates in this race, I am the one who has prosecuted gun violence, fought for sensible legislative reforms, and led gun safety efforts.

As District Attorney, I led the prosecution of the King Soopers mass shooter and secured 10 life sentences plus 1,334 years. I created Colorado’s first Free Gun Safe Giveaway Program to help reduce teen suicides and shootings committed with stolen guns.

I supported common-sense gun safety laws, including universal background checks, Extreme Risk Protection Orders, secure storage requirements, ban on ghost guns, and more. For me, this is not a campaign promise – it is a proven track record.

I will continue working with law enforcement, schools, public health leaders, and community organizations to invest in effective prevention. I will enforce protective order gun restrictions in domestic violence cases and pursue accountability. It’s also about prevention: safe storage, community violence intervention, mental health support, enforcing the law, and addressing social media’s role.

As Attorney General, I will work to hold social media and AI platforms accountable and push for stronger protections for kids.

Colorado must do more to protect children, schools, and communities. I earned the support of Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate of Distinction designation because they believe I'm the best candidate to deliver on gun safety for our communities. Colorado Ceasefire has endorsed my campaign.

Investigate fraud, waste and abuse, and political corruption. Get rid of unnecessary and wasteful lawsuits.
There is too much political persecution. Tina Peters should have never been prosecuted. If the elections were fair and secure, just prove it, don't attempt to silence people. There is too much unfair justice. Some get a slap on the wrist while other spend years in jail all based on ideology. Justice must be blind and fair.
The states role is to cooperate. The federal government as a job to protect this nation as do states to protect their citizens and territory. All should be working together.
Our 2d Amendment rights are slowly being stripped. Good guys who carry guns are a deterrent to bad guys who have guns illegally. The theater shooter sought a theater that did not allow guns. Good people do not kill others, they defend others.
