Onondaga County faces a crisis of stability, where surging rents, a 192% increase in family homelessness, and aging housing are literally making our children sick. As a public school teacher and organizer, I see firsthand that our current infrastructure is failing: parents are priced out by childcare costs, while an unreliable transit system creates a permanent barrier to steady employment. I will address these challenges by implementing a County-wide Rental Registry with mandatory lead inspections and incentivize Good Cause eviction protections to keep families in safe homes. We must treat childcare as essential infrastructure by funding universal subsidies and expanding provider capacity in underserved neighborhoods. Finally, I will fight for fast, free, and frequent transit accelerating the Bus Rapid Transit redesign to ensure every resident has a reliable link to economic opportunity. By prioritizing people over bureaucracy, we can build the same system of community
Transparency won't just be a policy, it will be the standard. I will ensure accountability by pushing for Community Benefit Agreements for all major county developments, ensuring tax incentives only go to projects that provide living wages and local hiring. I will bridge the gap between the legislature and the neighborhood by holding town halls across the district and maintaining a public, digital legislative tracker so you can see exactly how I vote and why. My communication will remain direct and accessible, utilizing neighborhood co-design sessions for infrastructure projects to give residents a seat at the table before decisions are finalized. Having managed building projects and served on community boards like Cafe Sankofa and TNT, I know that trust is built through visibility. I am committed to an government where every budget line and legislative priority is explained in plain language, ensuring that Onondaga County government finally answers to the people it serves.

We have a severe mental health issue in this community. I would work with our health department and try to get what we need. Affordable Housing is the next most important issue in my opinion. We need to work with the private sector as wel, as with the several other community organizations that we have, and fast trac new homes.
In the past years that I was on the Legislature I believe people recognize my committment to responding to my constituents, and my record of reponding to anyone that contacts me speaks for itself. I listen to the people I represent.
