My top three priorities are: The three programs/activities that I would prioritize for additional government funding are:

1) Education, Youth Opportunity, and Community Safety – I believe in investing in young people from birth to careers. I would prioritize funding for schools with respect to classroom equipment needed for children to be competitive, after-school programming, sports investments, tutoring, and college and career readiness.

2) Homeownership Protection and Middle-Class Housing – As a new elected official, I would work with my colleagues in government to increase funding for home repairs, flood mitigation, resiliency upgrades, and first-time homebuyer assistance. I would also work with my colleagues to develop a fair formula for property taxes.

3) Climate Resilience and Infrastructure for Coastal Brooklyn – . I will advocate for investments in drainage improvement, coastal protection, and resilient infrastructure while ensuring local residents have access to good-pay
In addition to my previous response, I believe we should expand clean energy initiatives and energy efficiency programs in ways that are affordable and accessible for working families, homeowners, tenants, small businesses, and houses of worship. Too many people want to reduce energy costs and make environmentally responsible upgrades but cannot afford the upfront costs.

I also believe climate policy should include workforce development and economic opportunity. Investments in clean energy, green construction, infrastructure upgrades, and sustainability initiatives can create good-paying jobs and career pathways for New Yorkers.
To me, racial and social justice means ensuring that people receive equal pay for equal work and that hardworking individuals are treated fairly regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or zip code.

It also means ensuring equal funding and educational opportunities across all school districts, including CUNY institutions that serve large numbers of working-class, immigrant, Black, and historically underserved students. Every student deserves access to quality education, modern facilities, technology, mental health support, academic programs, and career pathways regardless of where they live or attend school.

I also believe racial and social justice includes equal access to procurement, contracting, and economic development opportunities. Minority-owned businesses, small businesses, and entrepreneurs should have a fair opportunity to compete for government contracts, access capital, and participate in economic growth.
I would support strengthening the New York State Voting Rights Act and partnering with other states to encourage the adoption of their own state-level voting rights protections. As federal voting rights protections continue to face challenges, states must take a more active role in protecting fair representation and access to the ballot.

I also believe we must focus on registering as many eligible voters as possible to help protect majority-minority and coalition districts and ensure communities maintain meaningful political representation. Voter engagement, education, and participation are essential to preserving political power in diverse communities.

At the same time, protecting representation also means protecting community stability. I would support stronger voter education efforts, homeownership protections, foreclosure prevention initiatives, and anti–deed theft measures to help residents remain in their communities.
