Experience and Qualifications As a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley and a practicing attorney, I have dedicated my career to serving the people of this community. I currently serve in my second term as Third Ward Councilman on the Utica Common Council, where I have focused on delivering real constituent services and exercising the fiscal oversight our district deserves. That hands-on, ground-level experience, listening to families, cutting through bureaucratic red tape, and fighting for responsible use of taxpayer dollars, is exactly what I intend to bring to the 119th Assembly District. The Mohawk Valley is my home, and representing Utica, Rome, and our surrounding communities in Albany is not just a next step for me, it is a continuation of the same commitment I have always made to the people of this region.
Community Involvement My commitment to the Mohawk Valley goes beyond any title or office. I was born and raised here, I built my legal career here, and I chose to raise my life here because this community has always meant something to me. Serving as Third Ward Councilman wasn't just a job; it meant showing up at neighborhood meetings, listening to residents at their doors, and fighting for the people of south Utica day in and day out.

Affordability and Tax Relief: Families across the Mohawk Valley are being squeezed by rising utility bills, property taxes, and unfunded mandates that push costs onto local taxpayers. I will fight for meaningful relief in Albany.

Economic Development and Good Jobs: The Mohawk Valley has tremendous potential. I will work to attract businesses, support small business owners, and ensure state resources are directed into our district to create real, sustainable jobs.

Constituent Services and Local Accountability: Having served on the Utica Common Council, I understand how state decisions directly impact people's daily lives. I will be accessible, responsive, and a true advocate for every resident of the 119th District in Albany.
Climate change is real, and New York must lead. As a Democrat representing the Mohawk Valley, I support the full implementation of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act while ensuring the transition is affordable for working families in our region. My priorities would be investing in clean energy infrastructure that creates good-paying local jobs, upgrading our aging water and stormwater systems to withstand increasingly severe weather events, and ensuring that the economic burdens of the clean energy transition do not fall disproportionately on middle- and working-class families who are already struggling with high utility bills. The Mohawk Valley has the workforce and the geography to be a leader in this transition and I intend to fight for the state investments that make that possible while holding Albany accountable for balancing environmental progress with economic reality for our communities.
Every person in the Mohawk Valley regardless of race, background, or zip code, deserves equal access to opportunity, justice, and dignity. I will advocate for criminal justice reforms that ensure fairness and accountability at every level of our legal system, including addressing racial disparities in sentencing and expanding access to diversion programs that treat addiction and mental health as public health issues rather than criminal ones. I will support policies that close the opportunity gap in education and workforce development, ensuring that every child in our district has access to quality schools and every worker has a path to a good-paying job. I will also fight for equitable distribution of state resources so that communities that have historically been underinvested receive the funding they need to thrive. Social and racial justice is not a separate agenda from economic justice, they are inseparable, and I will govern accordingly.
The Supreme Court's decision in Louisiana v. Callais is a devastating blow to voting rights and fair representation. By effectively gutting Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, the Court has opened the door for states to dilute the votes of Black and minority communities through discriminatory redistricting. New York must respond boldly. I will support strengthening our state's own Voting Rights Act to fill the gap left by this decision, ensuring that minority voters in New York retain meaningful protections that the federal courts have now stripped away. I will also fight to protect the integrity of our redistricting process here at home, opposing any effort to exploit this ruling to diminish the voices of communities of color. When the federal government retreats from protecting democracy, New York must step forward, and I intend to be part of that fight.
