I’ve spent my life serving communities — as a teacher, nonprofit leader, and person of faith. I’ve waited tables. I’ve balanced books for a Main Street business. I’ve worked on a nonprofit farm. I know what families carry. I know what rising costs do. I see what happens when Washington is consumed by greed. When corporations get special treatment; when families pay more at the pharmacy; when wages don’t keep up; when young people wonder if they can afford to stay; we’ve lost something fundamental–our focus on the Common Good. I’m running for Congress to refocus government on what really matters to Western New Yorkers: making a good life affordable for everyone.
Community Involvement
I serve on the board of a local non-profit community farm. I actively support other local non-profits. Members of the community will often find me across the region at public demonstrations.

(1) EVERY FAMILY SHOULD BE ABLE TO AFFORD A DOCTOR. When elected, I’ll aim to: deliver universal access to basic healthcare, including mental health care; lower prescription drug costs and end corporate price‑gouging in healthcare; and protect rural hospitals, nursing homes, and local providers. (2) A GOOD LIFE IS INCREASINGLY UNAFFORDABLE. When elected, I’ll aim to: Invoke the War Powers Resolution to stop the war in Iran and lower fuel prices; Support moratoriums on data centers and propose guardrails to regulate AI; Raise the Federal Minimum wage to $15 immediately and strengthen union protections. (3) WE MUST RESTORE FAITH IN OUR PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS. When elected, I will: Reign in ICE to operate within the means of the law; Advocate for public finance of Federal Elections while working to end the effects of Citizens United; Propose legislation to ban Congressional members from trading stocks; Support legislation to establish term limits for Congress and the Supreme Court.
It’s the government’s responsibility to protect elections.
We need to put an end to the damage caused by the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision. I support passing strong laws and, if needed, a constitutional amendment, to eliminate the role of untraceable and unlimited money in our elections. Corporations, billionaires, and foreign entities should not be enabled to drown out the voices of everyday Americans.
I support a full ban on members of Congress trading individual stocks. I also support regulating cryptocurrencies as securities, so they would be covered by the ban on congressional trading of securities.
I support ideas for public financing of federal elections, with small donor matching that amplifies grassroots support. Our democracy works when it answers to voters, not to the highest bidder.
The Supreme Court's ruling is a slap in the face to Black voters and to anyone who believes in equality under the law, allowing state legislatures to systematically dilute minority voting power under the guise of partisanship.
It’s clear that Republicans think this ruling will mean permanent one-party rule: drawing maps so the votes of people who disagree with them don't matter. One-party rule is always bad for voters, no matter who does it. When politicians don't have to answer to voters, corruption runs rampant. The only people whose votes matter are insiders with the money to make politicians do what they want.
People in this district expect a system that is stable, fair, and accountable, where every vote matters. The Supreme Court doesn't get the last word on whether you have a voice in your government. You do. We can abolish gerrymandering in the next Congress, and if elected, I promise to fight for this critical common-sense legislation.
Climate change is caused by human choices, making it our shared responsibility to act honestly & decisively. When the government protects powerful polluters, working families & rural communities in NY23 pay the price first & longest. Our district’s natural features, which are vital to our farms, tourism, & way of life, are already suffering from hotter summers, severe storms, & rising costs. I will ensure federal investments protect our communities from these impacts and modernize our water systems. I am committed to enforcing existing laws and making polluters, not working families, pay for damages. I support practical solutions like expanding clean energy, zero-emission transit, climate-smart farming, and efficiency to cut pollution across key sectors. I will fight to secure federal subsidies for these efforts, including investing in green infrastructure & protecting our natural lands. Federal policy must reflect the realities and needs of the people who live, work, and farm in NY23.
The United States is instrumental in launching each of these bodies with large international coalitions. We did so in order to prevent war and provide a greater measure of justice for the world's oppressed peoples. We have a responsibility to strengthen these institutions, not undermine them for short-term political gain. It takes moments to erase trust and decades to rebuild. President Trump’s cozying up to authoritarian regimes weakens our global stature, security, and emboldens corruption and aggression. This is clearly documented through policy excuses and his shielding of the actions of leaders like Vladimir Putin, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Mohammed bin Salman, instead of applying consistent international standards, which already exist, and the United States was central in establishing. The heroic example of Ukraine points the way forward. Cooperation and democracy, not corruption and autocracy paves the way to peace and justice.

Fighting to reduce costs of living with healthcare, groceries, utilities, gas, insurance and housing. Fighting to Save America, Democracy, Constitution along with restoring voting rights. Fighting to eliminate tariffs, eliminate wars and threats of war, restore relationships with trading partners and allies to hopefully avoid recession and improve our economy.
US Supreme Court's Citizens United decision needs to be overturned and eliminate wealthy PACs from large influencers with elected officials. US Citizens do not trust the political activism and corruption of the Supreme Court.
The US Supreme Courts decision in Louisiana vs Callais is wrongly allowing states to manipulate voting districts to eliminate elected officials of color, make voting harder for women and overall suppressing voting. Jerrymandering generally involves political party bosses manipulating district lines to keep power and control of government in order to control public sector jobs and enrich themselves.
The United States should continue to pursue green energy policies that make each household energy independent, without financially penalizing families but using economic incentives. The technology is out there and the country needs to invest in infrastructure.
The US should be a world leader in ending wars and conflicts. Worldwide organizations like United Nations and NATO have been instrumental in preventing WWIII.
