1) Affordability 2) Immigration 3) Redistricting/Gerrymandering The cost of living is unsustainable for most Americans. Every fill up at the gas pump, grocery run, utility bill or health insurance cost induces stress. We must counter the tariffs and reckless war in Iran that are raising prices. On healthcare, I am a leader in the fight to extend the ACA premium tax credits that are vital to families' bottom line. We must protect Medicare & Medicaid from cuts. We must fix our broken immigration system. I support reform including: rigorous border security, fixing the asylum system, & giving work authorization to the millions of undocumented individuals here since Jan. 20, 2017 who haven't committed crimes. I support the DREAM Act and Farm Workforce Modernization Act. I'll continue to oppose ICE's illegal and immoral enforcement abuses. Gerrymandering creates an overwhelming number of safe seats, encouraging Democrats & Republicans to pander to their extreme bases who vote in primaries.
The federal government has a responsibility to ensure transparency, and to rid politics of dark money influence. I’ve spent my career making sure my constituents’ voices were heard over corrupt politicians bought by Big Money groups, and I am proud to have been endorsed by End Citizens United. I have cosponsored the Democracy Is Strengthened by Casting Light On Spending in Elections Act (DISCLOSE), the Get Foreign Money Out of U.S. Elections Act, amongst others, and I will continue to support legislation that increases transparency and accountability to protect American elections from corrupt politicians and foreign influence.
I am disappointed by the Supreme Court's recent decision in Louisiana v. Callais. Any attempt to invalidate any or all portions of the Voting Rights Act is extremely troubling, and I strongly oppose it. It doesn’t make any sense to carve up communities for political gain, which is exactly what this is, especially when those communities of interest have historically had their voice suppressed at the ballot. Voting rights are fundamental to a functioning democracy. As a society, we have a responsibility to build institutions that protect those rights and encourage meaningful participation in politics and government. I was a proud cosponsor of the For the People Act of 2021, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021, and the Freedom to Vote Act.
Climate change is an undeniable reality that demands bold solutions to protect Long Island, Queens, and the world. My commitment to this fight is longstanding; I am proud to have been named Environmentalist of the Year for New York State and, most recently in 2025, to have received the Clean Water Champion Award from the New York League of Conservation Voters.

With a record of recognition from the Sierra Club and the League of Conservation Voters, and NRDC action fund, I will continue to champion legislation that protects the critical progress we've made.

I remain a steadfast supporter of the federal agencies and legislation vital to this mission, including the EPA, the Department of Energy, and the Endangered Species Act. Furthermore, as the world's wealthiest nation, the United States must honor its Paris Agreement commitments and lead the global community in environmental innovation and protection.
It is crucial that the United States support our democratic allies throughout the world and engage in robust and collaborative partnerships with other members of international institutions. We must absolutely reject any isolationist or extremist tendencies. Standing with our allies helps us fight back against authoritarian adversaries like Russia, China, and Iran, who try to divide us from within and threaten the alliances of free nations participating in international collaboration.
