I believe local government should be trustworthy and worthy of the people it serves. My experience as a FOIA Coordinator/Deputy Clerk have given me direct experience with public records and the importance of clear, accurate information.
I engage with the public, listen closely, and learn what people here are concerned about. This matters because the position is not just about paperwork, but also about public trust.
I understand the work, care about the details, and am prepared to take the responsibility seriously. No matter what, I will keep learning, asking questions, and providing relentless honesty to our community.
The biggest challenges facing the Clerk’s office (and our community as a whole) are restoring public trust, improving access to information, and making township business easier for residents to follow. I will work to address this through more organized recordkeeping, clearer minutes, timely notices, accessible meeting materials, and proactive communication with the public. The Clerk’s office should help residents understand what their local government is doing, not make them chase basic information. I will focus on accuracy, transparency, consistency, and rebuilding confidence one record, one meeting, and one decision at a time.
I believe voting procedures should remain secure, accurate, and easy for residents to understand. My focus will be on proactive community engagement: helping residents know how to register, when and where to vote, what offices are on the ballot, and why local positions matter. I would also like to make boards, commissions, and township opportunities easier to learn about and participate in.
Local government works best when people feel informed instead of intimidated or, worse, dismissed. The Clerk’s office can and WILL play a big role in making civic participation feel clear, accessible, more welcoming, and (because it's me) actually fun.
