Every public school district is governed by a local school board, elected by members of their school district. Every year elections are held to fill school board positions for individuals who have completed their 3-yr term of service. There will be an annual budget hearing at 6 p.m., on May 11th, in the high school auditorium. There will also be a "meet the BOE Candidates" forum following the budget hearing. More information can be found at https://www.marathonschools.org/Current Board Members:Justin Lilley, President (Term 2024-2027)Charlie Forkey III, Vice President (Term 2024-2028)Lucas Baker (Term 2023-2026)Richard Stearns (Term 2023-2026)Floyd Parker (Term 2024-2027)Chad Parker (Term 2025-2028)Kimberly Moore (Term 2023-2026)Propositions:RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Marathon Central School District be authorized to purchase 4 school buses (4 - 66/44 passenger) school buses at an estimated maximum aggregate cost of $665,000; and that such cost, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax to be collected in annual installments; and in anticipation of such tax, debt obligations of the school district as may be necessary not to exceed such estimated maximum aggregate cost shall be issued; provided, further that said buses may be financed through a lease purchase agreement.
