After seeing the needs in my community, I am running for office because I believe Lee County needs leadership that listens to the community while preparing for the area's rapid growth and future challenges. Through my work with the Opelika housing Authority and managing various companies and recently as a probation officer with the City of Opelika, I have gained experience overseeing fiscal resources, working directly with the citizens, and addressing community needs. My background in activism, community service and public engagement has strengthened my commitment to ensuring every Lee County resident has a voice and I view myself as a resource and advocate for my community.
I believe improving roads that remain unpaved, expanding reliable Wi-Fi and broadband an access to underserved areas, and addressing concerns with county-managed trash pickup services. I also see a growing need to strengthen sheriff and fire protection services to ensure public safety. I also believe the rapid increase in population has placed pressure on existing infrastructure systems. making it critical for the county plan proactively for transportation, utilities, emergency response and essential services.
With Lee County being one of the fastest growing counties in the State, we have the challenge of creating sustainable solutions that will protect the legacy of our communities. If we lose these key values, we lose what caused Lee County to be one the most sought-after places to live. I want to improve on an infrastructure that is struggling to maintain the core values of our community.
As a business manager, tax preparer, property manager for the housing authority, I was challenged with budgetary responsibilities. I recognize that recent audit findings highlighted concerns with internal controls and the need for improved oversight and timely financial reporting. I believe county leadership must remain transparent, strengthen accountability measures, and ensure taxpayer dollars are used wisely while continuing to invest in infrastructure, public safety, and essential services that improve the quality of life for all residents.
Students and teachers need safe facilities, reliable technology and broadband access, strong workforce development opportunities, and continued support for academic and extracurricular programs. I advocate for stronger partnerships between the county, local municipalities, schools, businesses, and community organizations to help identify grants, state and federal funding opportunities, and responsible budget priorities that invest in the future of Lee County’s children while maintaining fiscal accountability.
I support hosting town hall meetings, community forums, and “County Chats” throughout the district to give residents a direct opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and stay informed about county issues. I believe leadership should be visible, accessible, and responsive, ensuring every resident feels heard and has a voice in shaping the future of Lee County.
