If elected to represent District 4, my priorities will be equitable investment, public safety, and transparent leadership. For too long, our community has been overlooked while other areas of Pompano Beach have grown. I will fight for improved infrastructure, flood mitigation, safer streets, affordable housing, and redevelopment that benefits current residents through local jobs & small business opportunities. Strengthen partnerships with the Broward Sheriff's Office by expanding Neighborhood Watch and youth programs while increasing community engagement. Most importantly, I will ensure residents have a voice in every major decision because District 4 deserves experienced leadership that listens, delivers results, & always put people first
Pompano Beach should join the countywide solid waste agreement before the deadline to work with the other 26 municipalities in negotiating long-term waste disposal, recycling, and waste-to-energy contracts. A regional approach increases bargaining power, improves efficiency, and helps control costs for residents. We must also expand recycling education & incentives, encourage waste reduction and composting where practical, and partner with businesses and community organizations to reduce landfill waste. By investing in innovative, environmentally responsible waste management solutions, we can create a system that is affordable, sustainable, and accountable while protecting our environment and keeping costs low for Pompano Beach taxpayers.

Affordable housing is one of Pompano Beach's greatest challenges. I will work with Broward County, nonprofit organizations, and private developers to expand affordable and workforce housing through grants, public-private partnerships, and responsible development. We must ensure teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, service employees, seniors, and working families can afford to live in the community they serve. I also support pursuing programs that expand affordable housing for seniors on fixed incomes. Growth should benefit residents, preserve existing affordable housing, and prevent longtime families from being priced out of their neighborhoods.
If the state eliminates or significantly reduces property taxes, my priority will be protecting essential city services, including public safety, fire rescue, emergency response, infrastructure, drainage, and road maintenance. Before reducing services, I would conduct a comprehensive budget review to eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly. I would also pursue state and federal grants, encourage responsible economic development, and support public-private partnerships to offset lost revenue. Every budget decision should be transparent, include community input, and focus on maintaining the services that protect residents' quality of life while ensuring long-term fiscal responsibility.
From the beginning of my campaign, I chose to qualify by petition because I wanted to meet residents face-to-face and earn their support. As the only candidate to qualify this way, I listened to concerns about affordability, infrastructure, public safety, and the need for a stronger voice at City Hall. If elected, I will continue meeting residents where they are through regular town halls, neighborhood meetings, and listening sessions. I will strengthen neighborhood associations, encourage public participation, and ensure community input is part of every major decision. I believe trust is built by listening, and together we can create a more inclusive, responsive, and united District 4.

During the first 2 months my focus would be on unifying the community to work together on solving issues in the city and ensuring that we have a city that works for our community as it pertains to community development. In the next 2 years ensure that the city provides funding to the local community-based non-profits and churches to help eradicate some of our social issues like homelessness, mental health, education for adults and youth. Increase economic development by providing a grant to help struggling small businesses and/or low interest loans including business education. Increase the availability of affordable by reducing some of the restrictive zoning and speeding up the permitting process to allow for a variety of housings options.
We have mountains of trash, some of which can be recycled and transformed into other uses like materials for roads and the like the old days glass like bottles were washed and reused, the bulk can be used for fill, and ash can be used to make concrete blocks. City should work closely with county government on strategic ways to deal with our waste problem.
We have an affordable housing crisis in Broward County. To deal with the problem my recommendations are to create a housing trust fund to provide low-interest loans for affordable housing projects for new units, rehabilitation for old units and offer rent subsidies, owners must agree that the units will remain affordable over a number of years with monitoring, adjust zoning to allow abandoned office building to be become affordable housing projects, provide support to local churches that through the live local initiative allows churches to build affordable multi housing units and engage the community in policy design. Leverage programs that provide funding and help for low-income households like HOME Investment Partnerships Program grants.
Cities should ensure that essential services related to health and safety like police, fire and public works remain fully funded. Non-essential services should be reviewed to determine extent in which they depend on public taxes and determine ways to make up for the short fall. Public parks are important to our community as they provide green space and programs that benefit the community for health and wellness. Funding for our parks can be enhanced through grants to help cover staffing short falls. Another way to reduce costs is to hire an efficiency agent to determine what needs to be done so government run more efficiently. Technology and automation can be used to reduce operational costs and consider diverse tax revenue streams.
I would identify and engage stakeholders in the community; including renters, homeowners, young people, seniors, small business owners, and cultural groups. Then Offer multiple participation methods to engage with the community to obtain ideas and feedback including in-person and virtual discussions, provide multilingual materials and childcare at public events to remove practical barriers. Sessions will be framed around clear issues and potential solutions, encouraging residents to contribute ideas and vote on priorities. Summaries of resident input in public forums will be shared on the city's website. Making the public aware of how their ideas are being incorporated into the decision-making process which builds trust and transparency.
