The Missoula County Clerk and Recorder/Treasurer is a combined elected position responsible for land records, tax collection, voter registration, and motor vehicle licensing. The office serves as the primary record-keeping and financial hub for the county. This office records property documents, issues vital records (birth/death certificates), acts as the county’s treasury, and conducts all local elections. The Clerk & Recorder/Treasurer also manages the Motor Vehicle Division, handles property tax billing for all taxing jurisdictions, and maintains the integrity of property records. The Clerk & Recorder/Treasurer serves a four-year term and works alongside the Missoula County commissioners to provide core public services. The office is split between recording functions (deeds, records) and the treasurer/motor vehicle division, both of which are critical for residents.2026 Annual Salary: $105,726.40
