28 years – Director of Undergraduate Studies, San Diego State University- BA and MA in Education 20 years – Volunteer Leader in civic and political groups such as South Bay Forum, Chula Vista Democratic Club 10 Years- Member and President of the Board of Directors of CSA San Diego County (501c3) a fair housing organization. 2 years- Member and President of EJE Dual Language Academy (501c3) in El Cajon, CA.

2022- 2026- Elected to Chula Vista City Council, District 2; Appointed by Speaker of California State Assembly to serve as San Diego Coast - California Coastal Commissioner (2025-2029); 2nd Vice Chair- San Diego Waste Water Commission/Joint Powers Authority; Alternate for SAN DAG, MTS and San Diego Community Power. Chula Vista Council Subcommittees- West Chula Vista Economic Development, Outside Dining Committee, Project Labor Agreements on Public Projects; Charter Amendments, and Urban Core Specific Plan Update.

2008- 2022 Elected to the board of Directors of the South Bay Irrigation District/Sweetwater Authority- re-elected 3 times. 2015-- Appointed member of the Board of Directors San Diego County Water Authority; serve as chair of the Water and Environmental Resources Planning Committee, member of the Imported Water Committee, member of the Colorado River Taskforce.
City of Chula Vista has a comprehensive sustainability strategy that responds to climate change (including sea lever rise) and public health concerns in general.
I host a montly meeting at the Norman Park Senior center focused on serving rising seniors (50 year to 65) and seniors in general. This meeting takes place on the first monday of each month. I also offer office hours on Wenesdays and Thursdays every week at City hall.
