1. Housing Infrastructure: Rapidly deploying SRO (Single-room Occupancy) public dormitories in converted commercial spaces to house our homeless closer to traditionally non-residential areas at a fraction of the current cost, funded by ending reliance on failed outside contractors. 2. Transit Efficiency: Implementing the MetroX Shuttle system to turn our streets into high-speed transit corridors, replacing underutilized metered parking with dedicated Transit HOV lanes to facilitate bus and shuttle frequency, speed and reliability. 3. Fiscal Accountability: Transforming the LADOT and other loss-leading departments into revenue generators through standardized parking of $2/hour and $12/day, reduced parking fines to $25-35, and transparent, publicly accessible audit trails (accessible online) for all city infrastructure and spending.
I am a second-generation immigrant who understands the struggles of the working class because I lived it. Having experienced teenage homelessness and grown up in cramped apartments, I know first-hand the urgency of the housing crisis. I worked my way through community college and UCLA, eventually becoming one of the top Systems Engineers in my field. This combination of personal resilience and professional success gives me the unique perspective required to lead with empathy while delivering the technical ability and experience Los Angeles needs to solve its most deep-rooted challenges.
