Ballot Designation
Behavioral Health Executive
My campaign is grounded in three core priorities: school safety, academic excellence, and budget transparency.
School Safety means every student, teacher, and staff member feels secure and supported on campus. This includes strong behavioral health services, proactive safety measures, and clear, consistent communication with families so concerns are addressed early, not after incidents occur.
Academic Excellence means delivering real results for every student. I will focus on improving literacy, math proficiency, and college and career readiness by supporting our teachers, using data to drive decisions, and ensuring all students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
Budget Transparency means accountability to our community. Every dollar should be clearly tracked, responsibly spent, and aligned with student outcomes. Teachers also need to be paid a livable wage. I will advocate for open, easy-to-understand reporting so parents and taxpayers can see exactly how funds are being used to support our schools.
Together, these priorities ensure safer schools, stronger outcomes, and a district that earns the trust of its community.
I bring a combination of lived experience, professional leadership, and a deep commitment to public service that uniquely qualifies me for this role.
As a father of four with children and family members in Twin Rivers schools, I understand firsthand the importance of safe campuses, strong academics, and a school system that works for all families.
Professionally, I serve as an executive for Sacramento County Behavioral Health Services, where I lead large-scale initiatives focused on improving outcomes for children and families. My work includes managing programs, overseeing budgets, using data to drive decisions, and building partnerships across systems to deliver results. I have also led major statewide efforts, including initiatives through the California Department of Health Care Services that expanded access to services for youth and communities.
My background as a former educator, combined with my Master of Public Health and degrees in Sociology and Biology, gives me a well-rounded understanding of how education, health, and community conditions all impact student success.
In addition, my leadership roles as Chair of the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency and as a member of the City of Sacramento Personnel Board reflect my experience in governance, accountability, and public decision-making.
I am running to bring strong leadership, transparency, and a results-driven approach to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.
