My Top Three Priorities for the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office are:

Transparency and Accountability- I will ensure complete transparency by publishing timely online investment reports and hosting regular community forums. Residents deserve to clearly see how their tax dollars are being managed and invested.

Fair and Compassionate Tax Collection- While maintaining fiscal responsibility, I will continue to prioritize fair, humane, and efficient tax collection practices that support our community while protecting county revenue.

Modernization and User-Friendly Service- I am committed to continuously updating our processes and systems to make them as efficient and user-friendly as possible for taxpayers. This includes implementing improved online portals and payment systems, creating easy-to-understand brochures on the different functions of the office, and producing educational videos to help residents better navigate our services.
I am well-qualified to serve as Nevada County Treasurer-Tax Collector through a combination of deep local roots, extensive hands-on experience in public finance, and strong educational credentials. As a lifelong Nevada County resident, I attended Alta Sierra Elementary, Magnolia Middle School, and graduated from Nevada Union High School. I began my finance career at age 16 as a bank teller and spent nine years in banking, where I developed strong skills in financial management and customer service. For nearly 14 years, I have served in the Nevada County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office, advancing to my current position as Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector. In this role, I have overseen accurate and timely property tax collection, led the implementation of new Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) collection software to improve compliance and increase revenue, served as the office lead on the county-wide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project, acted as Finance Section Chief in the Nevada County Emergency Operations Center, and managed treasury cash flow, liquidity, and investments. My formal education includes associate degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, and Social & Behavioral Sciences from Sierra College (Nevada County campus), as well as a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Management from Western Governors University. I am also a Certified California Municipal Treasurer (CCMT) and a California Credentialed County Senior Executive. I am an active member of the California Association of Treasurer-Tax Collectors (CATTC) and the California Municipal Treasurers Association (CMTA), and I am a graduate of the Nevada County Community Leadership Institute (NCCLI). This combination of nearly 23 years of progressive finance experience — starting in banking and continuing with over a decade of direct public service in the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office — has given me the practical knowledge, proven leadership, and commitment to integrity needed to effect
