The Trump administration and the Republican party have caused immense damage to
our economy, our reputation as a world leader and is responsible for an unquantifiable
amount of death domestically and in foreign affairs. President Trump must be
impeached, and his disastrous policies must not be merely overturned, but replaces
with radical reforms that would not only alleviate the economic pressure millions are
facing today, but push the country forward to a new era of economic prosperity.
The most important challenges facing our country today are rising costs for working families,
damage to our economy, and a loss of confidence in American leadership at home and abroad. In recent years, decisions at the highest levels of government have had serious consequences. They have weakened our economy, strained our global standing, and carried real human costs. We cannot ignore that or afford to repeat it. Congress must serve as a check on that kind of failure through real oversight and account
We need to cap out of pocket costs for essential healthcare services such as
prescription drugs and mental health care, fund universal pre-k and expand child
subsidies to reduce one of the largest expenses for young families, and support paid
family leave and sick leave policies to ease financial strains during the early stages of
parenthood. Of course, we need to expand federal support for affordable housing
development and support reforms and incentives for mixed income housing to reduce
barriers to construction and stabilize rents. The federal minimum wage should be raised
and indexed to keep up with inflation in order to ensure wages keep pace with rising
costs. Furthermore, we need to increase funding to public transit expansion efforts,
especially in underserved communities in the district. Additionally, energy efficient and
green reforms would go a long way towards lowering utility bills in the long run.
I would like to express my undying support of Medicare for all. Ut is the responsibility of
the state to take of its citizens and invest in their future and wellbeing. That being said,
along with the way I would of course support any and all healthcare policy reforms that
would benefit everyday Americans. Premium prices have exploded and millions are
losing access to healthcare because of the Trump administration. Our first priority
should be to reverse these damages, and broaden the scope of medicare and medicad
protections. I have a deep and unwavering belief that healthcare, including mental health care, should be affordable and accessible to every American. That is why I strongly support Medicare for All and believe it is the responsibility of government to care for its people and invest in their wellbeing. At the same time, we must take immediate steps to lower costs and expand access. Premiums have risen sharply, and too many Americans are losing coverage.
We need to divert ICE’s funding and use it to instead fund the systemin place to turn the
empty promises of a path to citizenship into a reality. Our border should be secure, but
not a violent display meant to instill fear in immigrants seeking a better life and to
contribute to our economy. We need to divert ICE’s funding and instead invest in a system that turns long-promised pathways to citizenship into a reality. Our border should be secure, but it should not be a violent display meant to instill fear in people seeking a better life and looking to contribute to our economy. Federal immigration policy should set the standard, while state and local governments should not be forced into carrying out enforcement actions that undermine trust in their communities.
I believe that the holding in Roe v. Wade was appropriate; the decision to continue or
end a pregnancy belongs to the individual, not the government prior to fetal viability. In
addition, the state should ensure reproductive care is easily accessible no matter were
one lives to ensure the safety of the parent. I believe the holding in Roe v. Wade was appropriate. Voter registration should be an automatic process. Every eligible voter should deb
registered to vote upon reaching voting age. For the time being, we need to fight back
against republican efforts to disenfranchise voters with more needless bureaucracy. We

Brad Cohen for Congress
1. The biggest challenge continues to be the attack on democracy from President Trump and his republican supporters. The current administration seems to be targeting voting rights, women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, and those of other marginalized communities. Democrats must win back control of Congress with those members ready and experienced to take back the legislative branch of government.
2. Affordability continues to be an issue as many Americans cannot even live paycheck to paycheck. We must narrow the wealth gap by making those in the "billionaire club" pay their fair share. This would help fund programs such as childcare, universal healthcare, student loan forgiveness or grants, and shore up Medicare and Social Security.
3. Healthcare - our current healthcare system is on a death spiral. And there are still huge access issues. There are many ways to achieve a universal healthcare system, but this must be a priority.
1. We MUST narrow the gap between those at the top of the income pyramid and everyone else. This gap has never been bigger other than when Roosevelt (I mean Teddy) broke up the trusts in a Gilded Age America. A wealth tax would help ease the strain on working class Americans. And this is NOT socialism!
2. Major banks, which enjoyed government handouts during several recent recessions, should be forced to help provide low interest loans or grants for first time homeowners. A home is the first step to obtaining generational wealth. They should also help in providing low interest loans or loan forgiveness to many college graduates straddled with predatory loans.
3. We need to end unnecessary wars which are poorly justified and continue to drain resources that could be used for many of the programs needed for Americans to keep from falling behind.
As a physician, I know, first hand, the challenges of a healthcare system that severely limits access. We are long past the need for a universal healthcare system where all Americans receive basic services designed at supporting wellness and treating disease.
Such a system would enable all Americans to avoid the labyrinth of the service approval process which is designed to make patients and physicians just give up.
We could bargain for lower drug prices- the single fastest growing cost in our bloated health insurance system.
In a fully operational and efficient system, we can turn our attention to disease prevention - which is the greatest way to achieve the dual goals of lowering costs and keeping Americans healthy.
We are a nation of immigrants - folks who left poverty, faced danger, and took huge risks to come to the United States to start over and work for an opportunity at success. Two things can be true - we certainly do not want criminals crossing our borders but we absolutely can reform our immigration system to make the process far more efficient and fair. I would champion a path to citizenship that helps new Americans legally participate in the vast opportunities our country offers. History has shown that many of our greatest innovations, leaders, and entrepreneurs are immigrants or come from immigrant parents.
The state and federal government should work together to control borders and immigration. What we have seen displayed at the highest levels of federal government and in the streets of places like Minneapolis are racist, discriminatory, and completely un-American. All branches of law enforcement need critical training in crowd management, de-escalation, and disarmament.
As a practicing OBGYN, it is very upsetting to see that women today have less rights than when I started practice decades ago. One of the required readings in my CME articles was on the Management of the complications of self-induced abortion. This was written because currently one third of the states in the US prohibits free access to safe abortion. The current GYN workforce has never seen these horrors-and women will die.
I believe that women, and ONLY women, should make their own reproductive healthcare decisions!!
Government, both federal or state, has the responsibility of making certain that healthcare providers are appropriately trained and certified, that healthcare centers are easily accessible, staffed, and equipped, and that services are available for all women regardless of income.
Frankly, I cannot believe that I even have to say that in 2026.
We first have to recognize that climate change really exists and that it is our responsibility to take action to protect the environment. That being said:
1. Return to the Paris Accords
2. Invest in clean energy and alternative/sustainable energy sources.
3. Invest in building more resistant infrastructure - these actions must address stormwater drainage, flood-proof building, heat resistant structures, and weather proofing the power grid.
4. Urban areas need to adapt methods of resistance such as green roofs, solar energy, rainwater management, net zero carbon emissions, indoor farming, and increased green spaces.
5. Public education programs on energy savings and sustainable living.
6. We need to invest in technology and planning that help communities prepare for disasters with early warning systems, preparedness, and target mapping.
Government needs to be a partner with state and local authorities as adaptation requires planning for new technologies as we phase out current systems.
I believe that New Jersey serves as model for expanded voter access and such measures should become federal policy. These include:
1. Secure mail-in voting.
2. Early voting with expanded hours.
3. Drop boxes in convenient, accessible, and secure locations.
4. Polling locations that are easy to find and accessible by public trasportation.
5. Easy registration to vote.
We must be certain that polling locations are safe and free from the specter of intimidation that makes vulnerable legal populations afraid to exercise their right to vote. Equipment should be reliable and poll workers well trained.
The federal and state governments must reduce misinformation and invest in public education programs that encourage everyone to vote.
Finally, to restore trust, a first big step would be to enact the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.

The most important challenges facing our country are the rising cost of living, gaps in affordable healthcare, and a growing lack of trust that government is delivering for everyday people. Families are working hard but still struggling to afford housing, care, and a stable future.
We must also protect our democratic institutions and uphold the Constitution. That means ensuring no one is above the law, strengthening checks and balances, and restoring accountability and integrity in public service.
I will focus on lowering costs by increasing affordable housing, reducing prescription drug prices, and strengthening the healthcare workforce to expand access. We must also invest in industries like life sciences that create good-paying jobs and expand opportunity.
Through my work building a biotech company and advising on federal policy, I bring a practical, results-oriented approach to delivering real progress.
I would support policies that increase the supply of affordable housing, including expanding federal incentives to accelerate housing construction, including affordable housing, through tools like the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and encouraging local zoning reform. To lower healthcare costs, I support allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, capping out-of-pocket prescription costs, and strengthening community health centers and the healthcare workforce. I also support expanding the Child Tax Credit, increasing childcare support, and providing tax incentives for elder care.
To build long-term stability, I support investing in life sciences and advanced manufacturing, strengthening workforce training, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and providing targeted tax relief for middle-class families and small businesses.
I support lowering healthcare costs and making care easier to access and navigate. That includes allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, increasing price transparency, and reducing out-of-pocket costs for patients. We must also strengthen the healthcare workforce and expand access to primary care, mental health services, and community-based providers.
To improve navigation, I support better care coordination, expanded use of digital tools, and patient-centered models that simplify how people access services. Mental health must be treated as essential care, with greater integration into primary care settings and expanded coverage.
Through my work in life sciences and health equity, I have seen how practical, patient-focused solutions can make care more accessible and effective.
I support comprehensive immigration reform that strengthens border security while creating a fair, humane pathway to legal status for long-standing, law-abiding residents. Our system should be orderly, efficient, and reflect both the rule of law and our history as a nation of immigrants.
Immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility, and agencies like ICE should focus on serious threats to public safety and national security, with clear standards and accountability. State and local governments should not be forced to carry out federal immigration enforcement, but they should be able to cooperate where appropriate. At the same time, local institutions must be able to prioritize community trust, which is why I support clear limits on enforcement actions in sensitive settings like hospitals, schools, and places of worship.
Decisions about reproductive healthcare belong to women, in consultation with their doctors, not politicians. I support protecting a woman’s right to make her own reproductive healthcare decisions, including access to abortion.
The federal government should establish a baseline of protections to ensure access across the country, while states can implement policies that expand access and support patients, but not restrict fundamental rights. We must also ensure access to contraception, maternal healthcare, and comprehensive reproductive services.
My focus is on protecting individual freedom, ensuring access to safe, high-quality care, and supporting women and families in making the decisions that are right for them.
I support investing in climate resilience to protect communities, infrastructure, and public health from extreme weather. That includes strengthening flood control systems, modernizing stormwater and drainage infrastructure, and investing in coastal and inland flood mitigation. We should also harden critical infrastructure like energy grids, transportation systems, and hospitals to withstand severe events.
I support federal funding and incentives for resilient infrastructure, as well as partnerships with states and local governments to implement community-specific solutions. We must also update building codes and land use policies to reflect climate risks.
These investments not only protect lives and property, but also reduce long-term costs and strengthen economic stability for our communities.
We strengthen our democracy by making it easier for every eligible citizen to vote and by ensuring that every vote is counted. That means expanding early voting, protecting vote-by-mail, and ensuring polling places are accessible and adequately staffed so no one has to wait hours to cast a ballot.
We also need to restore trust by protecting election integrity through clear, consistent standards, strong cybersecurity, and nonpartisan administration of our elections. Efforts to mislead voters or undermine confidence in outcomes have no place in a healthy democracy.
At our best, we recognize that our democracy depends on participation and trust. When more people are able to engage in the process, and when that process is fair and transparent, our country is stronger for it.

Our country faces interconnected challenges that impact families every day: affordability, economic opportunity, trust in government, and global leadership.
First, the cost of living. Families are struggling with housing, utilities, healthcare, and everyday expenses. I will advance practical solutions to lower housing costs using technology and innovation, reduce energy bills, expand affordable public transit, and bring down healthcare costs.
Second, economic opportunity. I will support small businesses, improve access to capital, and partner with industry and universities to create good-paying jobs.
Third, restoring trust. Leadership must be transparent, accountable, and grounded in listening to people.
Fourth, public safety. Every community deserves protection, dignity, and equal treatment under the law.
Finally, strong global leadership that supports stability and growth at home.
At the core: your voice, your ideas, your concerns must shape our future.
Families in this district are feeling the pressure of rising costs every day. I will focus on practical solutions that lower expenses and build long-term stability.
First, housing affordability. I will support increasing supply and using technology and innovation to reduce construction costs and timelines, making housing more accessible.
Second, lowering energy and utility bills by investing in efficiency, modern infrastructure, and cost-saving technologies.
Third, expanding affordable and reliable public transit through partnerships with NJ Transit to reduce commuting costs.
Fourth, strengthening small businesses and job creation by improving access to capital and supporting innovation-driven growth.
Fifth, reducing healthcare and prescription drug costs for families.
My focus is simple: lower everyday costs, expand opportunity, and ensure families can build a stable and secure future.
Healthcare and mental health services must be affordable, accessible, and easy to navigate for every family.
First, lower costs by expanding prescription drug price negotiations, increasing transparency, and reducing out-of-pocket expenses.
Second, expand access by strengthening primary care, investing in community health centers, and supporting telehealth so people can get care where they are.
Third, improve mental health services by increasing funding for culturally competent, community-based care, integrating mental health into primary care, and expanding the mental health workforce.
Fourth, simplify the system by improving care coordination, streamlining insurance processes, and making it easier for patients to understand coverage and benefits.
My focus is to reduce costs, remove barriers, and ensure every family can access timely, quality care when they need it.
We need comprehensive immigration reform that is fair, humane, and grounded in the rule of law.
First, fix the system by reducing backlogs, modernizing processing, and creating practical pathways for long-term residents who contribute to our economy while keeping families together.
Second, strengthen legal immigration to support economic growth and workforce needs.
Third, ensure enforcement is accountable and respects due process. I support reforming enforcement agencies to restore trust, with clear standards, transparency, and humane practices.
Federal immigration enforcement should remain a federal responsibility, while state and local governments focus on public safety and community trust. When communities feel safe engaging with local institutions, reporting crimes, and accessing services, everyone is safer.
My approach is simple: secure, fair, and humane policies that reflect our values and strengthen our communities.
I believe access to abortion and reproductive healthcare is a fundamental healthcare decision that should remain between a patient and their doctor, not the government.
I support protecting access to safe and legal abortion, as well as broader reproductive healthcare, including contraception, maternal care, and fertility services.
At the federal level, we should protect baseline rights so access does not depend on where someone lives. No one should lose care due to geography.
States can play a role in expanding access, improving healthcare delivery, and supporting maternal health, but they should not restrict fundamental rights or create barriers that put people at risk.
My focus is to ensure care is affordable, accessible, and guided by medical professionals, while respecting individual dignity and freedom.
Strengthening climate resilience is critical to protecting our infrastructure, homes, and communities from increasingly severe weather.
First, invest in resilient infrastructure by upgrading roads, bridges, drainage systems, and flood defenses to withstand extreme conditions.
Second, support local communities with federal funding for flood mitigation, stormwater management, and climate-resilient housing, especially in high-risk areas.
Third, modernize energy infrastructure by strengthening the grid and expanding clean, reliable energy to reduce outages and long-term costs.
Fourth, improve emergency preparedness by investing in early warning systems, disaster response coordination, and community-level planning.
Fifth, promote smart land use and innovation by partnering with local governments, universities, and industry to develop sustainable, resilient solutions.
My focus is to protect families, reduce long-term costs, and build stronger, safer communities for the future.
Expanding voter access and restoring trust in our elections are both essential to a strong democracy.
First, make voting more accessible by expanding early voting, protecting vote-by-mail, and ensuring sufficient polling locations so no one faces long lines or barriers.
Second, modernize election infrastructure with secure, updated systems and paper backups to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Third, strengthen transparency and accountability through clear processes, timely communication, and bipartisan oversight so voters understand and trust the system.
Fourth, protect voting rights by ensuring equal access for all eligible voters and preventing unnecessary restrictions.
Fifth, invest in voter education so people understand how and when to vote and have confidence their vote will be counted.
My approach is simple: make it easier to vote and harder to doubt the outcome.

Underlying many of the crises we face is a core problem: Congress has failed to exercise its authority under Article I of the Constitution. That breakdown has enabled attacks on democracy, science, public health, and individual rights. My chief priority is to reassert Congress' power through taxation, spending, legislation, and investigation. Through these tools, we can stop the damage of the last year and rebuild a system that is resilient to future attacks. We also face coordinated assaults on scientific institutions, healthcare systems, and higher education which are pillars of American strength. I'll work to restore federal support for research, protect peer review, and defend public health agencies from political interference. At the same time, we must rebuild democratic structures—ending gerrymandering, restoring voting rights, and ensuring fair representation so that the government truly reflects the will of the people.
The rising cost of living is tied to broader structu ral failure, especially in healthcare, education, and housing. In healthcare, I will protect Medicaid and ACA subsidies, support a strong public option to drive down costs, and work toward Medicare for All so that care is a right, not a privilege tied to employment. On education, I will expand Pell Grants, codify incomedriven repayment, eliminate the tax penalty on forgiven student debt, and tie federal aid to tuition restraint. We must treat higher education as a public good, not a consumer product. I also support strengthening the social safety net, restoring programs like SNAP and housing assistance, and addressing income inequality through fair taxation and investment in public goods. Economic stabilit y comes from building systems that allow families to withstand shocks, pursue opportunity, and plan for the future.
In the last year, federal actions have cut Medicaid, attacked ACA subsidies, and targeted reproductive healthcare. My immediate priority in Congress would be to defend and reverse those actions. We must protect Medicaid, restore ACA marketplace subsidies, and ensure full access to reproductive healthcare. For the medium term, I support a robust public option that competes with private insurers and drives down costs, along with allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices across the board. My long-term goal is Medicare for All-- a system in which healthcare, including mental health services, is treated as a right. Just as important, healthcare policy must be guided by scientific evidence. I will work to restore the independence of agencies like the CDC, FDA, and NIH, defend peer review, and ensure that decisions are made by medical professionals rather than political operatives.
I come from a family of immigrants, and I know firsthand that immigration makes our country stronger. We need comprehensive immigration reform that creates clear, fair pathways to legal status, protects Dreamers, and ensures a humane asylum process that respects international law.
Congress created ICE, and Congress can replace it. I support abolishing ICE and replacing it with a civilian agency that carries out leggitimate enforcement functions without a paramilitary culture. We must end the militarization of the border and deportation process, restore due process rights, and stop the use of federal agencies to terrorize communities.Federal enforcement should be grounded in the rule of law and human dignity. State and local institutions should not be forced into roles that undermine trust between communities and government. A system that works depends on cooperation, fairness, and respect for rights.
Access to reproductive healthcare, including abortion, is a fundamental right. In the last year, we have seen direct attacks on that access, including efforts to defund providers and restrict care. My immediate priority is to restore and protect access nationwideThe federal government must play a central role in codifying these rights into law so they cannot be stripped away by shifting state policies or court decisions. Healthcare access should not depend on where you live. Congress has the authority and responsibility to ensure that fundamental rights are protected across all states in the Union.
Climate change is real, anthropogenic (driven by human activity) and demands urgent action. Congress must reassert its authority and pass laws that mitigate and slow its effects, putting scientific evidence at the center of policy. One immediate step is restoring the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate greenhouse gases. I will introduce legislation to do that. We also need aggressive investment in clean energy and restoration of environmental protections that have been dismantled. Protecting infrastructure and communities requires long-term planning grounded in science. Research institutions and higher education play a critical role in developing solutions, and we must protect them from political attacks so they can help us build resilience for decades to come.
I’ve spent two decades fighting for fair elections, and seen firsthand how structural distortions undermine public trust in the process. I will introduce federal legislation to end gerrymandering nationwide, using independent citizen commissions which are the most effective solution identified by my research. In Congress and in my life as a private citizen, I support restoring and expanding the Voting Rights Act to protect against the scourge of voter suppression. Beyond that, we must build a system that represents all groups fairly and distributes political power more equally among voters. Restoring trust requires both access and fairness. When voters know their voices count equally and elections are competitive and representative, confidence in the system follows. My goal is to build a democracy that not only works today, but is resilient in perpetuity
