I have been very engaged in our local politics for a while. I currently sit on the ad hoc committee for the volunteer fire department. I have spoke before the commission about the improper charging of wheel taxes to our disabled veterans. I have spoke in favor of the North Sumner Water Line grant. I am running because if you watch any of the meetings, we lack the ability to work together. Our commission has became more about being right than it has governing what is right. We need to restore our government being one of the people, by the people and for the people.
When elected, I want to be a voice for the northern part of Sumner County which has been neglected for far too long.
I will demand answers to fiscal challenges. No amount of taxpayer money should ever be said "it's only."
I will fight to increase transparency and make it easier for the public to be involved. We should not bury our meeting agendas on a website and make it difficult to find that matters that the body will be discussing.
Our county budgeting and growth will always be a problem. What needs to happen with our budget is a comprehensive look through new eyes and new ideas. Increases in funding need justifications not rubber stamps. Our growth needs to managed with future growth in mind. All actions have unintended consequences. Developers should be required to contribute to the infrastructure needs before ever building a building.

I have served the citizens of Sumner County for over 29 years as a member of the Sheriff's Office. I am close to retirement and wish to still be able to serve my friends and neighbors. I have seen a lot of changes over the years. Some good, some bad and I would like to help make changes for the better for all.
The growth is the most important, with infrastructure being second. We need to use common sense and manage the growth. Set standards for new development, so that we can provide all the services needed without adding any burden to our citizens.
First and foremost we need to have common sense with managing the growth. We can grow at a sensible level without overwhelming our infrastructure.
