I was born and raised in Anaconda, MT. My educational path took me to Missoula in 1987 to attend the University of Montana and I have lived here every since. I'm 57 years old. After completing a B.A in Elementary Education, I taught 1st grade for 30 years in Florence, MT., retiring in June of 2024. During my career as an educator, I received my M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. While I was employed at Florence Carlton School, I was a member of our school union, serving as a building representative, vice-president and president of the union leadership team. My experiences at Florence led me to be as a strong communicator, a negotiator of our collective bargaining agreement, and a solution-driven teacher.
As required by our Montana Constitution, the decennial study of school funding is taking place within a School Funding Commission. The Commission has been tasked with recommended changes for the legislature to consider in order to hopefully improve the school funding formula. I have attended several commission meetings and I am in support of solutions that will provide necessary funds to our public schools. Another important issue facing our state are the proposed data centers in areas of our state. While Montana desperately needs good paying jobs, as legislators we must weigh the impact of data centers on our environment and communities. I won't support data centers unless there is a plan to protect our natural resources.
As I have been knocking doors in HD94, most voters are very concerned about the high costs of living in Montana. Using renewable resources such as solar and wind power is a common sense solution to rising energy costs. Leaders of Montana must strive to look for ways to bring better paying jobs to our communities. I will vote for continued support for the MEDIA Act Tax Credit Program which aims to stimulate local economies by attracting film and television productions. The new Bridge Health Alliance for school employees will hopefully be successful and a model for other enterprises throughout the state. Montana must provide adequate funding for our rural hospitals and commit money to help pay for residents to access basic health care.
In order to maintain the integrity of Montana elections, I support the continued use of paper ballots. Also, I support the Montana Election Observation Initiative as I believe the observation process helps to preserve and build trust in elections. I'm concerned that our rural residents, elderly population, and Indigenous Peoples might lack transportation to access voting locations. I would like to see our legislators survey our Montanans in order to discover any limitations that impact our citizens being able to vote. The amount of money that is spent in American elections is atrocious. Montana leaders must enact caps on campaign spending across all elections.

If elected, my top priorities are affordability, education, and responsible budgeting. First, I will focus on affordability. Rising housing costs, property taxes, and everyday expenses are straining Montana families. We need practical solutions to ease that burden. Second, public education is essential to our future. We need to support our teachers, strengthen our schools, and ensure students are prepared for future opportunities. Third, I will focus on fiscal responsibility, ensuring the state budget is sustainable, transparent, and focused on core services. These issues are connected, and addressing them in this order; affordability, education, then budgeting will help keep Montana strong now and for future generations.

I support secure, transparent elections that are accessible to every eligible Montana voter. I support making it easier for eligible voters to participate through secure absentee voting, early voting options, and strong rural access. I also support the Transparent Election Initiative - The Montana Plan. Focused on removing dark money from Montana elections, to improve transparency and public confidence in our election system. We need greater transparency so voters know who is funding campaigns. The goal is simple: secure elections, full participation, and a system where voters not wealthy special interests have the strongest voice.
