As a Marine Corps Veteran, local business owner, and volunteer firefighter, I offer a lifetime of service and a deep-rooted commitment to the people of Hamilton. My military background instilled in me the discipline to lead, while my experience as an entrepreneur and first responder provides a firsthand understanding of the fiscal and safety challenges facing House District 86. I'm 46 with a degree in criminal justice and a firm identity as a constitutional conservative, I have the educational and practical foundation needed to defend the rule of law and protect our individual liberties. As a husband and father of five, I am dedicated to bringing this proven leadership to Helena to ensure Montana remains a land of freedom and prosperity.
My top priority is making Montana affordable again by securing permanent property tax relief and strictly limiting the size of government. I support the Homestead Reduced Rate, which slashes taxes for primary residences while ensuring out-of-state owners pay their fair share, and I advocate for a 2% annual cap on property tax increases to protect homeowners from valuation spikes. To achieve affordable living, I prioritize slashing regulatory red tape and reforming zoning laws to allow the free market to build homes without taxpayer-funded subsidies. I am committed to a leaner state budget that prioritizes income tax cuts and eliminates wasteful spending, ensuring the government lives within its means just like Montana families do.
To secure the economic future of Montanans, I will prioritize fiscally responsible growth by cutting state spending and pursuing broad income and property tax relief to keep more money in your pocket. To lower the cost of medical insurance and care, I will champion price transparency requirements that force providers to compete in an open market, naturally driving down premiums and service fees. I also advocate for expanding Association Health Plans, allowing small businesses to band together for better rates, and Direct Primary Care to eliminate costly insurance middlemen. By slashing regulatory red tape and focusing on free-market competition rather than government dependency, we can create a stable economy where healthcare is affordable.
To ensure Montana elections are secure, I support implementing strict voter ID requirements and maintaining the use of paper ballots to ensure every vote is physically verifiable. I prioritize frequent, mandatory voter roll audits to ensure that only eligible, living citizens remain on the lists, preventing potential fraud before it starts. Regarding the role of money in politics, I believe that by maintaining a smaller government with limited influence over the economy, we naturally reduce the incentive for special interests to spend heavily to buy influence.

I intend to address Montana’s unfair property taxes, unaffordable healthcare, housing and a return to normalcy. I’m a fiscally conservative, socially responsible orphaned Republican that believes the GOP party as I was raised no longer exists. Filing as a Democrat does not make me a Democrat —it reflects the reality of where I can stand, speak honestly, reach across the aisle, compromise and connect to the people of Hamilton.
The federal cuts to Montana State will make balancing the budget difficult. Increasing tax fairness will take an “ all of the above” revenue approach including property tax, income tax, the multitude of various misc. taxes.
Further the expense side will require prioritizing health and safety issues, education followed by an infrastructure. I expect a lot of discussion over if or how much reserves need to be utilized.
The tax system must be adjusted such that tax fairness is equalized starting with low income and ending with the very wealthy individuals.
The end game for medical insurance should be universal health care, but reducing insurance company influence, reducing costs and maintaining existing system while transforming and improving results is too long a discussion for this questionnaire,
I see no validated security or improperly registered voters in Montana elections. As a result the only election legislation I would consider would need to be supported and sponsored by the Clerk and Recorders of Montana
Montanans need to pass the “Montana option” initiative and limit candidate money in any way possible.
