MONTANA HOUSE DISTRICT 51

State House Representative – the office of state representative serves in the Montana legislature’s lower house. There are 100 representatives who are elected from districts. Representatives are elected to 2-year terms. Representatives propose and vote on proposed laws during the legislative sessions that meet for 90 days in odd-numbered years, and provide oversight of state agencies and study issues through interim committees that meet between sessions. Representatives are limited to four consecutive 2-year terms.

I am a lifelong educator, committed to public education because I believe education provides opportunities for everyone and that educated citizens build a prosperous, just, and safe community. I will work to support teachers, public education, and increase funding to schools at the state level.
Health care and human services: All Montanans deserve the right to affordable, high-quality healthcare and the right to privacy.

Education: All Montanans deserve the right to education--- high-quality, equitable public education opportunities with adequate state funding.

Human and civil rights: I support diversity and inclusion and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Housing: Safe, clean, affordable housing is a human right.
Clean Energy: I will advocate for a combination of energy conservation, energy efficiency, and the development of clean, renewable energy sources. Pathways that create good Montana jobs that will contribute to a strong economy and provide the healthful environment that is our constitutional right.

Expanded Medicaid access

I believe Montana can protect the integrity of our elections while expanding access so every eligible voter can participate. Preserving absentee voting is critical for Montana voters. It’s secure, popular, and essential for rural communities, seniors, and working families.

Overturning Citizens United to stop the flow of big corporate campaign money into politics.
