Born & raised in Lewistown, MT, 69,living in Colstrip MT. Our family owns 30 acres and a cabin on the N. Cheyenne Reservation. Retired (37 years) public school music teacher. Attended both UM and MSU. BA German/Music Minor. Masters of Music in MUS ED-Boston Univ. Education taught me how to listen, learn, work with others, and share information to those with diverse perspectives. I know how to make things happen, proven by directing over 90 concerts, plays, and musicals. My students played outreach tours, and one performed at the White House for Michelle Obama (Turnaround Arts). I taught music at Coyote Ridge, an all-male prison, and am a MT Teacher Leader in the Arts. I can bring a much needed new voice to the Legislature.
1. Data Centers - we need to hold our ponies! Moratorium on any new sites until proper oversight and regulations are in place. 2. Protect Public Lands and the Environment. 3. Privacy and Voting rights - Protect our MT Constitution which protects our right to privacy, and a woman's right to bodily autonomy. Keep Federal government from meddling with elections. 4. Increase money for Education. We need teachers! 5. Protect programs that invest in low-income families. 7. Stop the reservation to prison pipeline. Decrease incarceration.
Ultimately our country needs Healthcare for All. "For profit" healthcare is as crazy as private prisons. Being sick or incarcerated should not be a money maker. We need renewed investment in people, education, and small businesses. Reviving grants and governmental investment in alternative energy sources, supporting education by increasing teacher pay and offering occupational programs as well as keeping our Universities and Colleges well funded is a good start. Our Tax codes should include property tax relief as well as require the ultra rich to pay their fair share. Remember: we are neighbors, family, and friends. Act accordingly.
First, trust the election officials in our local communities who do a wonderful job. Second, stop federal overreach. Elections belong to the States. Rescind placing your birthdate on the outside of your ballot. I support the Transparent Election Initiative.
