Q1. Please briefly provide the following information: place (town or county and state) of birth, age as of election day 2026, place (town or county) of permanent residency, occupation/employer, and education. How do these and your other life experiences qualify you to be an effective Legislator?
Q2. What are the most important issues you expect to face if elected to the Montana Legislature, and what are your positions on those issues? How would you prioritize each of the issues you have identified?
Q3. What economic policies will you pursue to help Americans who are concerned about their economic prospects in the coming years, including the cost of medical insurance and care?
Q4. What measures do you support to ensure Montana elections are secure while facilitating the ability of all eligible voters to cast their ballots? What, if anything, should the state government do to reduce the role of money in American elections?
I was born in Dillon, MT, and I am 44 years old. I went to college at U of M and graduated with high honors in both History and Music. I have three young kids with my husband of 13 years. In 2018, we bought a home in the West Valley area where we still live. For the past 12 years, I have been taking care of my children and our household finances/needs as well as being active in the community: singing in the Glacier Symphony and Chorale, helping with school levy support, and contributing to various non-profits in the valley. I am organized, passionate and committed to advocating for my community to improve school funding, healthcare access, affordable housing, job production, and protecting access to recreation and public lands.
My biggest passion lies in helping to fix the state's school funding formula, which is up for restructuring this year for the first time in 10 years. My kids go to West Valley, so I see first-hand the need for public school financial support. We need to make sure school infrastructure doesn't suffer when enrollment fluctuates, putting unnecessary pressure on levies and bonds. I also will work to protect Medicaid for the state, making sure rural neighbors have access to the healthcare they deserve. Another important issue is housing affordability and property taxes. We need more incentives from the state so that people can afford to stay in their homes and buy/rent where they work. Additionally, I oppose selling off our public lands.
I will push to incentivize more diverse housing types and create more workforce housing. I will advocate for increased property tax relief targeted towards those who need it most relative to their income. I will support increased broadband infrastructure to help with telehealth and work-from-home opportunities as well as helping small local businesses compete on a more global scale. I will also support value-added agriculture, responsible energy development, and increased state taxes on extraction and development on public lands to keep the Public Lands Trust adequately funded. I will work to increase the minimum wage and the Buy and Made in Montana programs.
I support Montana's existing voter ID laws and our legacy of keeping elections secure. I oppose federal overreach because elections should be run by states, and we have historically done it well. In a state this rural, absentee voting is how ranchers, seniors, and military families participate, and we should fiercely protect that access. I support the Montana Plan's effort to do away with dark money. Voters deserve to know who's spending to influence their vote. The people of District 10 should choose their representative, not out-of-state super PACs.
