Hoosier families deserve economic stability to plan for their future and their kids’ success. My first bill will be a comprehensive economic package with clear provisions: elimination of tariffs on local goods, a minimum 10% tax cut for working families and small businesses, and an increased tax rate for the top 1% of earners.. The bill will directly tie a federal minimum wage increase to the local cost of living, providing a data-based formula for annual adjustments. My priorities also include targeted rules for AI data centers: requirements to prevent increases in utility bills, protect drinking water sources, preserve productive farmland, and mandate permanent, well-compensated jobs in rural communities. Finally, from the top down, this administration has proven the critical need for robust ethics reform to ensure our government works.
As we are all immigrants. I support a more humane and practical approach to border security and immigration reform. I don’t believe it is in America's interest to pursue aggressive deportation policies targeting immigrants with no criminal record who work, pay taxes, and contribute to our society. A single-issue comprehensive immigration reform bill–something the U.S. has not had in decades–is the appropriate path forward. Reform should include limiting the Department of Homeland Security's border control powers and repealing and replacing ICE with the reinstatement of INS and US Customs. Bloated federal spending packages filled with earmarks for deportation efforts are ineffective and only serve to slow other important domestic needs while so many Americans are struggling so mightily.
I would not cut Social Security or Medicare. The Trump Administration spent $3 billion on the invasion of Venezuela, $1 billion on striking alleged narco-terrorists at sea, and as of April 7, nearly $45 billion on the Iran War, totaling nearly 50 billion dollars. For 2027, they have requested a massive increase in defense spending of $1.5 trillion. All of this balloons the deficit for the sake of illegal conflicts lacking Congress's approval. This is where spending cuts are warranted. Likewise, I would cut corporate subsidies: the OBBBA includes nearly $40 billion in new federal subsidies for oil, gas, and coal in 2025. I would return this money to the states to help struggling American families afford groceries, gas, and healthcare. We need spending cuts where they are needed most, and investments where they matter most—for Americans
I strongly oppose the Iran War. It is an unconstitutional war of choice with no clear objectives and, now, no simple exit strategy. Globally, we’ve paid the cost by cracking the foundational world order that has provided peace for more than seven decades. In addition, oil prices have skyrocketed while Russia reaps billions in profits, prolonging the fight for our allies in Ukraine. We have significantly diminished our standing as a world leader for many years to come. But the biggest consequences have been the staggering costs paid by American families–both in dollars and in the lives and safety of loved ones in the military. Congress has stood by and allowed this administration to act as it has. When I am elected, I will do my duty to the American people and the Constitution by holding this administration accountable for its actions.
There is little evidence of voter fraud despite the torrent of accusations and investigations since 2020 because our election process, run by the states, is already secure. National standards are not needed as they only diminish individual states’ rights and freedoms, creating more opportunity for corruption and control at the federal level. With regard to the SAVE Act, beyond being yet another waste of time and resources by this administration, it is, quite simply, a poll tax. Most Americans do not have passports, and they are expensive to obtain—$165.00 for a new applicant. The United States thrives when it promotes citizens’ participation through voting, not when it oppresses them. States run federal elections, not the federal government, for a reason.
No. I will always defend individual rights and freedoms. The decision to end a pregnancy is rarely simple and frequently tragic for all involved. It is a medical decision that the government has no business intervening in. I believe this is a private matter between a woman and her medical provider.
Through Pam Bondi’s refusal to release documents related to the president, the Epstein files have proven to be a key element in the damage to the Department of Justice's integrity and trust. DOJ’s failure to be fully transparent and accountable to the public is a travesty. Whether the president was involved or not, the right thing to do was to release all documents with only the victims’ names redacted. The DOJ is not beholden to the office of the president. If we truly value justice in our country, it can’t be anything except an independent agency. To regain Americans' trust, I would support strong ethical oversight so the institution can restore the integrity that Trump’s administration has destroyed.
