Filing County Torrance
I bring both experience and dedication to this position. I previously served as Torrance County Probate Judge. I was appointed for two years and then elected to two consecutive terms, serving a total of 10 years. I have also been a real estate agent in Torrance County for more than 19 years. This experience has given me extensive knowledge of deeds, legal descriptions, chains of title, survey and property taxes; areas that are often critical in probate cases.
I would work to ensure the Probate Court is efficient, accessible and responsive to the needs of the public. My goal would be to maintain clear processes, treat everyone fairly, and provide the court with steady, experienced leadership.
I would give presentations at the senior centers, throughout the county and also speak to community groups such as. Rotary, Mavericks, and other civic clubs. I believe public education is important so that people better understand the Probate Court's role and processes.
I have lived in Torrance County for more than 45 years, and am a graduate of Estancia High School. I continued my education at ENMU and Alb. TVI, now known as CNM. I am bilingual. I spent more than 28 years working in County Government, working in the County Clerk’s, County Assessor’s & Manager’s Office. I was also a real estate agent for over 19 years in Torrance County. I am married to my husband Anthony, who is a veteran. I believe in serving people with honesty, compassion and fairness.
