Magistrates are judges in limited jurisdiction courts. They hold the initial hearings in many types of serious criminal cases, and try criminal cases, including many first-time DUI/DWI and other misdemeanor cases which carry relatively less serious penalties. They also have jurisdiction over some types of civil cases (e.g., landlord/tenant and contracts) in which the amount sought is less than $10,000. Term: Four years; no term limits.

What qualifies me is a combination of real-world experience, education, and a deep connection to this community.
For over 13 years, I’ve served Otero County as a probation and parole officer, working directly with the courts—making sentencing recommendations, supervising offenders, and enforcing court orders in the field. That experience has taught me how decisions made in the courtroom play out in real life, and how important it is to be fair, consistent, and grounded in the law.
I also bring a strong educational background in criminal justice, including a master’s degree, and a foundation of discipline and service from my time in the military.
Most importantly, I’ve spent nearly my entire life in Otero county.
The biggest challenge is making tough decisions that impact lives in real time—while staying fair, impartial, and grounded in the law. You have to balance individual rights with community safety, every single day. That’s not theory—that’s real responsibility.
Efficiency comes from consistency, preparation, and communication. When cases are handled right the first time—with clear processes and good information—you reduce delays and build trust in the system.
I’d like voters to know that this campaign is about service—not a title.
I’ve spent my life serving—first in the military, and for the last 13+ years here in Otero County working in law enforcement as a probation and parole officer. That experience has shaped how I approach decisions: stay grounded, treat people with respect, and always put the safety of the community first.
I also want people to know that I’m not running to be something—I’m running to continue serving the community that raised me. I grew up here, built my life here, and I care deeply about the future of Otero County.
If elected, I will approach every case the same way—fair, impartial, and based on the law and the facts. I will work every day to earn the public’s trust,
